We were booked into this hotel on a bike tour, and they are well set-up for the many bike tourists who come, with a bike parking area in the garden courtyard. It's a convenient location, just outside the main commercial area and near the river. It was an easy walk to shops and restaurants. It's an older establishment, with lots... More

convenient hotel for a rather boring town where on a Monday most restaurants were closed. The room 38 was so filthy even the bugs in the corner of the rooms were covered in dust!!! Quite scared to go under the sheets, at least when the power went out for 20minutes they did turn it back on.......

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family in August 2015. It is not the newest hotel in the world, but has what could be called "old French charm". The staff were very friendly, and the location of this small hotel with lots of parking outside (on the main square) made it very convenient. The price was also very... More

A very nice old-fashioned hotel. Our room looked over the hotel garden and up to the fortress. We kept the windows open all night. Loved the verbena soap. One afternoon we bought sandwiches and orangina and had a picnic in the garden. Parking is free, either on the street or in the big lot nearby (except on Wednesday nights because... More

Convenient location, our room was in the attic of the extension, lot of rickety feeling stairs to climb but plenty of character in the room with old beams and antique furniture. Large bathroom with a modern shower and multiple jets. Room was a bit noisy with strange repetitive sound which was irritating at night. Breakfast was very good. Had two... More

A good value for the money and a good location. The rooms and facilities are what I'd call traditional old-time France. It's not the newest, but the overall quality is good. One positive for the room we had was that the bathroom/shower had an outside window. This dramatically improved overall room ventilation. Value for breakfast was good. They used a... More

This is our second visit to this hotel this year. It is central, well priced, and has charming and helpful staff. The breakfast is superb with a wide range of teas, the usual croissants and breads plus a great charcuterie with cheeses and smoked Salmon. There is easy and free parking opposite the hotel in the market square except on... More

We stayed in the hotel Planagenet in Chinon. The hotel is a charming little hotel . Breakfast is served in a seperate room and is OK; The room was a little tiny, but typical for a French family hotel. The dining was very good end the offered excursions made it a fine stay.

Good central location for everything. Abundance of local free parking. Hotel 18th century building with modern bathrooms. The staff we extremely polite and helpful, at all times. A couple of small problems we had initially were sorted out quickly without any fuss.We had a warm comfortable room with an ultra modern bathroom.Wi-Fi was as stated really good. Would we stay... The hotel is ideally situated in this small town, close to restaurants, castle and the river. The bedroom was a bit dated but ok. The staff were friendly and good wifi . No kettle in room but tea/ coffee making facilities were available in downstairs room. The hotel did provide the best buffet breakfast we had in two weeks, including... More
