My son and I stayed here and found it to be a pleasant, clean and affordable place. The markets were right outside the front door in the morning which was fine because there were a lot of happy people around. The room was typically 2 star - you would kill your cat if you tried to swing it here, especially... More

Icanno find this on trip adviser as a seseparate restaurant but it is open to non residents. The food and service is exceptionally high. The service is also above average. Most other eating places in chinnon are average but not this place

we stayed for four nights and had a lovely time, even though the bed was mighty soft. we were in an attic room on the top floor but was adequate. Had bath and shower over. Food ok considering they were catering for so many, breakfast plentiful. staff were very friendly and helpful, good English.

We stopped here for lunch. It was very good with attentive service and well presented and cooked food. Most of our party of eight had the €11.50 standard menu with the plat du jour which was excellent. Decor clean and tidy, fairly traditional French but that's the establishment style. Good value. No regrets about choosing it. It was full of... More

Stayed for one night in a second floor family room (2 adults and 2 children). The room was spacious, clean and looked nice. But, it is located in the second floor with no elevator so we had to carry the luggage up which was not nice (specifically asked for a low floor in the reservation which the hotel disregarded completely).... We had one nights stay here on our way back from the south. The place was adequate and ok for an overnight stop, with free parking opposite in a public car park. The room was large although accessed from stone steps at the back of the hotel which were problematic when wet and steep up to the second floor with... More

Its OK. One possibly two nights but despite the hotel being very quiet I was put in a back room overlooking a back yard, storage place. For some reason the stairs (stone) were soaking wet and slippery as was the handrail, ok it was damp outside but surely not inside? I wouldnt go back to this hotel although at breakfast there... Taken over recently by a young couple, this is not a tourist restaurant, and the decor is fairly low-key traditional French hotel. However, if you want a well-cooked, generously portioned interesting meal, with rapid but not pushy service, this is the place to go in Chinon. The menu of the day is always particularly good value, and doesn't rely on... More

Quality is low of the products used. Starters are large meals to obviously compensate for the bad quality. Service was poor as there was only 1 waiter. Glasses on the tables were dirty, no outside view etc. Overall very bad!

Stayed as family of 3, for just one night, unplanned. The room was fine, although the double bed was 2 singles pushed together. We didn't have any of the problems others have mentioned with bad beds and linen - it was all quite acceptable. Likewise, despite having a room overlooking the square/car park, it was quiet enough for a good... More
