The Saint Jacques is just over the river from the main city of Chinon, offers a great view of the Fortress, and an easy, five-minute walk across the Vienne into the heart of the city. It's a lovely family-run hotel, partnering with the Contact-Hotel chain of independents. There's a lovely warm welcome, with nice touches such as umbrellas for when... More

Had a one night stay & was very pleased with the room, the cleanliness and the friendliness of the owners. For the price the room was good. The hotel is just across the river from the town centre. A pleasant 5 minute walk gets you into the middle of the town. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This review is bicycle oriented. The overnight bike storage is excellent. The concierge could not have been more helpful. Clean, quiet and a short walk to the centre of town. Don't miss the fortress. Spectacular. The breakfast was great with pots of homemade jam and preserves. Best of all it is right on the velo a Loire route. Highly recommended... More

This was an overnight stay on our way back from the south of France. It's a great little hotel, 2 star, basic but very clean with all amenities. Free Wifi, TV, secure parking, and just a few minutes walk over a lovely old bridge into Chinon. And best of all you get the best view of the Chateaux from the hotel... More

The hotel is comfortable and well maintained but not luxurious. It is well located just across the river from Chinon centre with parking on site. We found the welcome friendly, and the optional breakfast generous and well priced.

Hotel is in the St Jacques area across the river from the town - but easy to walk to across the bridge. The town is lovely with a historic fortress, great restaurants and interesting shops. Our room was fairly basic but clean and quiet with a comfy bed. The couple who run the hotel were charming and made us very... More

We stayed here on our way South, then again on the way home. The hotel is just the other side of the river from the main town with the restaurants etc. This is great as you can just leave the car at the hotel and it's a lovely stroll into town for the evening. very pleasant hotel, clean and well... Good standard, easonably priced basic B&B hotel on other side of river from Chinon. Pleasant 10 min stroll over the bridge to all the restaurants and bars. Parking limited in hotel, but plenty on-street. Owner helpful and wifi savvy. Good for a few days en-passant to visit Loire chateaux and vineyards.

We found this hotel easily and the very helpful owner directed us to the free and off road parking. Our room was fine and the bathroom modern with the an amazing shower, much better than you get in many expensive hotels. The owners were really helpful and welcoming and the breakfast was lovely. The hotel is across the river just... More

We have just returned from 5 nights. The owners Catherine and Jacques are very welcoming and only too pleased to help with suggestions of places to visit and to make reservations if wanted. The hotel is well situated for visiting the Loire Valley. It is situated on the south bank of the Vienne and it was nice to cross over... More
