We finished a wonderful day at Chenonceau and just wanted a cold beer before going on to our accommodation. This place right in centre and looked the part. Lunch was nearly over at 2.15 but our request for a beer in the garden met with a frosty response. The waitress was instructed to take us to the furthest most point... more

We stopped in for dinner only. Looking in the windows from the street, we thought the restaurant looked cozy and inviting with a typical French country decor from days gone by. Unfortunately, the quality of food also seemed like it was from days gone by. Haricots Verts were so overcooked they were limp and turning brown. Boeuf Bourguignon was a... more

Staff were bizarrely incompetent. Simple sandwiches - one obviously straight from the microwave - took more than 1/2 hour. Could have been made in minutes. Simple requests ignored. It wasn't busy - there was no visble reason for the delays. The few other patrons appeared to be getting v. similar treatment. Alas, the constant flow of tourists lets places like... more

We stayed four nights at this hotel. We managed to get checked in with our limited French and the managements limited English. The hotel is nicely located near the train tracks and Chenonceaux and the village is very cute. When we booked the rooms, we were told that breakfast was included in the price, however when we arrived we were... more

The hotel is perfectly situated next to the castle of Chenonceau. The room was clean enough, but just barely. There was a strange smell in the building and the annex is in big need of a makeover. The room contained a water boiler, but the electric oultlets were few and badly positioned (in the bathroom). The shower lacks a shower... more

This was our introduction to the hospitality, friendliness and food of France and we were so glad we stayed here. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. The food was superb! The proximity to the train station and the castle was all within a short walking distance. Though the rooms were small and we had to haul up our luggage... more

The only redeeming feature of this dump was the bar. The accomodations are almost scary. There was nothing charming about this worn out place in bad need of a major renovation. I booked this hotel (hostel???) last minute when I realized the chateau I had booked was too far away from where we were to take a moring balloon ride... more

I'm unable to comment on the accommodation, as we were fortunate to find a lovely b&b close by. The food was awful. My boar casserole had been overcooked and looked like dogfood on a plate. The side salad was wilted lettuce with the odd tomato, We begrudged paying the bill, because it was an embarrassment to the wonderful French food... more

We stayed here two nights in early July. The hotel is well located for people traveling by train, a very short distance from the train stop. It is also very close to the château de Chenonceau, which is the main or even only reason why people visit this small village. The hotel is in an old building, so one can... more
