This hotel was the biggest disappointment of our 28 day trip, during which we stayed in 8 different places, and one I was most looking forward to. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms in various buildings are charming as is are the public areas--pool, patio bar, gardens and dining room. The tables and chairs outside most rooms in... more

We stayed one night simply as a location to visit the chateau in Chenonceau but discovered that both the chateau AND this hotel are simply stunning. The rooms, most in different buildings adjacent to the main reception, are well furnished and have a character all of their own. Dinner was faultless with some of the best food I have tasted,... more

The food lived up to high expectations. Don't expect a menu in English nor a real patient waiter to translate but the food is truly great as are the desserts. Ask for a quite room not in the front of the hotel. Although the town is small, the road that fronts the hotel is busy and loud. Don't count on... more

I went with my wife and parents to what is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in the area as it has a 1 Michelin star. Except for the Foie Gras all of the appetizers were shellfish. Additionally many of the main courses had pork mixed into the meal in some cases without specifying it in the menu... more

We stepped into a dream. Beauty, comfort, luxury, security, and just a walk away from France's most beautiful castle, Chateau Chenonceau. ( We'd stayed the night before in Paris near the Eiffel Tower. There the room was a tight fit, and the shower impossible...for nearly twice the price.) Here the decor was fresh, clean, and tasteful. The gardens were lovely,... more

First, let me say that I have a bias toward Chenonceaux and would be hard pressed to find any complaints here. I LOVE the town, it's history and it's incredibly charming accommodations. Le Bon Laboureur is, in my opinion, the finest establishment in this VERY small town. For one, it has Air-Con - and in the summer, you do need... more

This hotel is lovely and the dinner was marvelous. Service was very professional. I would consider returning here next time I tour the Loire Valley and would hope to be able to book one of their packages that include dinner. This was not available, perhaps because of the holiday weekend, but seems like it would be a great deal. This... more

We visited l'Auberge du Bon Laboureur last summer with our three children, ages 14, 11 and 8, in connection with our tour of the chateau. We had a wonderful meal and the staff made significant efforts to cater to the tastes of our children. The town is so charming and we would definitely visit again if we toured the chateaux... more

My husband and I took a side trip from Paris to visit the Loire Valley and spent 3 days there, using Au Bon Laboureur as the home base. What a lovely experience! From the quaint atmosphere in Chenonceau, to the utterly delicious meals in the restaurant, we couldn't have enjoyed it more! We arrived early, no problem, the staff was... more

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Le Bon Laboureur. What a massive disappointment! Staff either mildly friendly or haughty in the extreme. Didn't feel very valued. Food average at best or below on some occasions and certainly didn't merit a Michelin rosette. Felt it was trading on past glories but other guests were fawning so maybe my standards... more
