En route to the Dordogne from the Eurotunnel , we were drawn to Chartres Cathedral and came across le Parvis by chance. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating. They patiently instructed us where to park, kept the restaurant open and cooked the most fabulous formule meal costing15€! The 'suite' of rooms was steeped in history, very quirky and... More

We stayed one night in Le Parvis. The location was great. You walked out the back door to find the magnificient cathedral. You are near many restaurants and little shops. We stayed in the Anges (Angels) room. The room was great--good air conditioning, comfortable bed, beautiful old beams (had to have been the attic space in the past), and a... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night to break the journey driving from south of France to Calais. The sat nav almost exploded trying to find Le Parvis hotel as the route is through twisting one way streets...some very narrow. We were in bad tempers after our long drive however the staff at the hotel soon cheered us up... More

If you are visiting Chartres to see the Cathedral, Le Parvis is THE place to stay. It is a wonderful experience to be so close – literally out the window! Three of us stayed in the spacious Henri IV suite for a couple of days early September. Having a fold down divan in the separate sitting room worked well for... More

Superb location on the doorstep of the cathedral in Chartres. We arrived tired and hungry but soon felt much better after a warm welcome and good, value-for-money, food. We enjoy walking around Chartres after dinner, watching the light shows on the ancient buildings. Comfortable night's sleep. Very good breakfast. Safe car parking near the hotel with lucid directions. Check-out at... More

Dated rooms/ shabby. Urgently needs some investment. That said service good- welcoming host. Rooms have seen better days. Star lights in ceiling and round bed dated to say the least. Location is great though right beside the Cathedral which is handy as there is not much else in Chartres. Illuminations are worth while, better than those in Beaune and elsewhere... More

Great location. Very clean. Wonderful breakfast. Friendly innkeepers. When we booked from the US the only choice of room that booking.com (site routes you here-no other option) was a very weird room up 3 flights of winding stairs in the attic. No shower just a tub. This hotel has lovely rooms on lower floors. Not sure why they don't show... More

With our family we booked two rooms on the same floor. The location is great, next to the cathedral. Parking is free and easy in a parking garage 200 meters further. The rooms are huge, with very special decorations. Sleeping is wonderful, we stayed in bed till breakfast at 10:30! Continental breakfast is included. The hotel has a bar and... More

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to stopover on our way back from our house in the Pyrenees. My wife was also very keen to visit the Cathedral so the location of the hotel was very important. This hotel is right next to the Cathedral and you can sit out on their terrace and enjoy a glass of... More
