My wife and I were looking for somewhere to stopover on our way back from our house in the Pyrenees. My wife was also very keen to visit the Cathedral so the location of the hotel was very important. This hotel is right next to the Cathedral and you can sit out on their terrace and enjoy a glass of... More

Our first B and B in Loire region. Pouring rain, up spiral staircase to our suite. Not a good start. Our suite across road from cathedral, free car parking a few mins away with very good instructions on how to get there. Rooms were spacious, bed very comfortable, bathroom on small side but shower great. Bonus of le parvis they... More

Despite concerns being so close to the cathedral, they are most helpful guiding you to nearby free parking. A great location looking right out on the cathedral. Our room was very nice, really more of a mini suite, and the restaurant and lower levels were all medieval stonework; very cool. The food there was good, the people very friendly and... More

If you're going to stay in Chartres then being in the old town, as near to the Cathedral as possible is worth doing. Le Parvis is 40 yards from the cathedral entrance on the top of the hill. A quaint, eclectic, narrow old building on multiple levels it really relaxing. With only 4 rooms, a cafe and a jazz bar... More

The antithesis of chain hotels - a really quirkily furnished old building packed with character. The Henri IV room was a good size with a comfortable sitting area with a great view of the Cathedral over the street and accessible by a stone staircase. The breakfast was a bit late arriving but was very generous and fresh. The cheerful staff... More

Le Parvis is a nice B&B small hotel in the middle of Chartres. You can walk out of your bedroom onto a set of stairs and find yourself looking directly at the Chartres Cathedral across the street. The hotel supplies parking (down the block) and has a nice breakfast to start your day. We did an overnight there at the... More

There's a lot to like about this place: excellent situation and copious breakfast being two that spring to mind. To some, the quirky rooms with their adaptations, flea market chic and bodged solutions to old architecture may also be a plus but I'm not so sure at £100 a night a little out of season, no matter how well the... What a find! My wife, who is an excellent researcher, found this gem after a pretty exhaustive search. We loved our two-night stay at Le Parvis and our experience in Chartres was overall very positive. The hotel occupies an ancient structure, probably dating back to the time the adjacent cathedral was built or in the 12th to 13th centuries. I... More

In the UK Le Parvis would be called a boutique hotel that is quirky, tasteful and put together with a lot of care and love. It is a very old building so of course there are a few eccentricities with regard to plumbing etc. but if that bothers you then you can forgo the amazing location and atmosphere and stay... More

I have been in Chartres many times in the past but always with a large group, but this time I was just with my family and could not have been more delighted with Le Parvis!! The location right by the Cathedral was perfect as were the rooms; the service and attention by the staff was excellent. I so enjoyed eating... More
