I have never given any place I have visited such a bad review and I have done about 60 reviews but this place is a disaster with two exceptions. Six friends and I recently stayed here as part of a Loire valley cycling trip. We had been booked into the smallest of the rooms. When I say small, I mean... More

Wow, we recently spent 3 nights at this hotel located 2 minutes from CHAMBORD Chateau. What an experience. The view from the rooms of the Chateau is something to behold, and the surrounding national park contains an estimated 600 deer and 600 wild boars which can be viewed from special huts built in the park. Every time we visited these... More

This is a small hotel with elegant rooms. We had the view of the castle from our room. A jacuzzi in the room. The hotel is in front of the castle, in his garden. The evening there is light in this garden. It is also in the middle of the natural reserve. Thers is nothing to do in the evening... More

We phoned on Easter Sunday to see if they had rooms for that night, amazingly they had two rooms left. Just right for three weary bikers. Reception staff didn't bat an eyelid at the bike gear, they even showed us the way to the covered parking. Dinner was delicious, restaurant busy. Staff great, even friendly, despite our shoddy French!

The hotel is in a lovely location overlooking the chateau, which is fantastic once the crowds leave - it feels like you have the whole place to yourself. The hotel and room are very quaint, decorated like a grandmothers house - but that suits the area. The room and bathroom were very clean, with comfortable bed. The only downside I... More

Are you Louis XIV, XV? No! Ok, so try this place and feel like a King ! You'll be noticed you are going time back just in the moment of coming into the forest around the Chambord Castle. Hotel St. Michel, is just in front of it. Yes, IN FRONT. Few meters away. You surely can go to visit the... More

The two-star Grand St. Michel probably won’t win any awards as the chicest, most up to date hotel, but it is the only hotel where you can be the last person to see Chambord castle at night, and the first person to see it in the morning! That was more than enough reason for me to stay here. With 45... More

We had low expectations as the hotel doesn't need to do anything to get it's guests - it is in an amazing location! Having read tripadvisor recommendations we asked for a renovated room when booking. We didn't realise that we could get reduced rate access to the chateau of Chambord as guests. We paid to park in the chateau parking... More

We just returned from a trip to France and stayed for the 4th time at the St. Michel in Chambord. While I agree with many of the writer's opinions, as to the hotel being dated and a bit shabby, the view of the chateau makes up for all of it. We always choose a room with a view overlooking the... OK. This was my fourth visit to Chambord – my favourite Loire Chateau – and my third stay in the hotel. In my opinion, one of the most stunningly located hotels in the world…after the crowds have gone, in the evening, and before they arrive in the morning one has the most beautifully tranquil vista of this gorgeous and imposing...
