We were fortunate enough to get the last available room at this hotel when visiting Chateau Chambord. The room we had was simple but clean, and the bathroom was massive. As the other reviews mention, the hotel is as close as you could possibly get to the cheatau. We were skeptical about eating in the hotel restaurant for dinner, but... more

The rooms were pretty clean and sufficiently spacious, although a bit overheated at times. It's clearly an old hotel but it's well kept and the location is impossible to beat. We were traveling with a baby and young daugther and everyone slept comfortably. The restaurant was pretty reasonable and most of the waiters were very friendly (with one exception, but... more

I've been meaning to write a review of St Michel for a while now but I think I've not got around to it because, quite simply, I think we will always return to this beautiful location and charming hotel. Ever since I first found the hotel over a quarter of a century ago I've been captivated by its stunning location... more

We arrived at the hotel in the evening after a full day of driving the backroads of Burgundy. It was like entering a fairy tale setting. When they say the hotel is close to the Chambord Chateau this is NOT hyberbole. It is truly right next to it. Our room was large, as was our bathroom. We had three windows... more

- We took a room without view on the castle at 65€. Minimum confort but clean & calm. - We recommand to reserve the evening menu at the restaurant It is really fantastic to eat at few hundred meters of the castle. - Late in the evening (22h), you can also enjoy the Light Show. No real interest to take... more

Fantastic hotel. We had a room with a view onto the Chateau de Chambord and it was great. Nice and spacious (by French hotel standards) and clean too. There wasn't too much ambient noise and it was soooo conveniently located. There is a parking lot at the hotel so you don't have to park in the tourist car park and... more

We took Rick Steve's advice and reserved a room looking onto the castle; we were not disappointed. The room (#5) was clean and spacious and the bathroom even had a bidet. The tub was large and the shower had excellent water pressure. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were very impressed with each course, from the lightly fried... more

The hotel location is amazing, in front of the world heritage chateau Chambord. We found out the hotel while we were wondering around the chateau. The reception lady was very friendly and speaks good English. Hopefully, I found a room for my family in the middle of the season! The room was small and backside (with complicated stairs) , but... more

Entering our room at the hotel, to be overwhelmed at the vista of the beautiful Chateau of Chambord through our front windows, was the start of a special weekend. The restaurant offers fine food of high quality, served by very hard working staff, ensuring we had all we needed . Our front facing room with the view ,was very tastefully decorated... more

The hotel has been renovated -new bar/lounge- and the rooms are very pretty now -ask for the view of the castle-. You can eat outside also which is really nice, the food was also excellent. Highly recommended for a typical French atmosphere! more
