We stayed here whilst travelling to the Aveyron region in the South. I cant recommend this place enough. Its absolutely beautiful. The building is very old and beautifully decorated. The owner, Sophie, was lovely and very helpful. Her English is excellent and she is happy to help if you're French isn't up to scratch. She has a lovely little dog,... More

We stayed one night en route South and had a wonderful time. We have two very young children who were welcomed warmly and given lots of attention. The dog Elliot was a particular favourite with our sons. Breakfast was lovely and a great way to start our day. We'd highly recommend a stay here and would definitely visit again.

We found this place on TripAdvisor and stayed just one night while traveling from Bordeaux. The house was very well decorated in period furniture and art. The breakfast was included and well prepared and the host was very helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay.

Gilles and Sophie were very welcoming. Their home is lovely, very well appointed and with an interesting history. Home made preserves and yoghurt topped off a delicious breakfast. Elliot the Westy was also very welcoming. Thank you for the pumpkin jam!

The most delightful room in a beautifully restored house and garden. Hosts could not be more helpful with guidance to fabulous restaurant and old town. Breakfast on the balcony and tea on the Salon - very classy.

Stayed for one night in May 2014. Although we arrived a bit early, 2pm, Sophie welcomed us warmly and gave us sightseeing tips and a map to get to the old town. Stayed in Coco Chanel room, which was beautifully decorated - as is the rest of the house. Breakfast was very good and included homemade jams & yogurt as... More

Grand looking and very welcoming. Sophie gave us good tips for sightseeing and restaurants (we loved her dog). The room (Coco Chanel) was lovely. Very clean, good toiletries, lots of towels, a decent hairdryer and even bathrobes. The bed was uncomfortable (very hard mattress) and had a curious headboard (a slab of foam covered in a type of sateen thing).... More

We arrived at L'Oustal on a very wet September evening and was warmly welcomed by Sophie into her beautiful home. Sophie explained with a map how to walk into the centre of Bourges or where to park if going by car, which was great so not to waste any time as we were only there overnight. Our room was perfect,... L'Oustal is a delightful period house in a secure walled garden about 15 minutes walk from the historic city centre. Sophie welcomed us warmly and gave helpful advice on how to maximise our short stay in the interesting city of Bourges. The rooms are all themed, based on famous women from the late 19th century (the period of the house).... More
