The hotel is in an excellent location, next to the Chateau. The hotel has seen better days and needs refurbishment. Our triple room was very dark and small, furniture outdated, but it was clean. The bathroom was quite big and clean as well. The staff at the reception was really nice and helpful. Continental breakfast with fresh croissants and coffee... More

The deal about this hotel is its strategic location. It's just a few steps from the Chateau. Our room was small and the furniture was outdated, but everything was clean. The people at the reception were really friendly and helpful. They gave us detailed directions where to park our car, gave us a map and most importantly they gave us... More

This accommodation was part of our 2700kms tandem cycling holiday through France. A secure garage was provided for our tandem bicycle. This hotel is ageing and in need of refurbishment. Our room was substantial however decorated with well-worn furnishings - which crowded the room. The ensuite bathroom was small and cramped yet clean. The main attraction of this place is... More

We are pleased that you have appreciated our situation downtown and facing the castle and that you mention that we have a secure garage for bikes. Choosing our hotel , built in 1891, means that you like old buildings. Our clients like it as it is different from standard and unpersonnal hotels. It gives an unsual atmosphere, an aim, and... The location is great, just next to the Chateau and central. It's a basic hotel, with a nice breakfast and very accommodating management. Nothing fancy, but adequate and the price is right. Am adding these words to meet the 200 minimum characters, for a post. TripAdvisor, lighten up!

My girlfriend and I spent here five nights during a trip to visit the castles. This hotel is a very very nice place that will take you back to the atmosphere of a true " belle epoque" building. The hall is beautiful, just like the dining room, and the view of the Blois Castle is divine. The staff is friendly... More

Built in 1891 Hotel de France et de Guise is a character hotel in the centre of Blois. A short convenient walk from the railway station. An easy walk to the châteaux (the hotel provides an entrance discount) and neighbouring restaurants/shops. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were dated but clean with free WiFi. Our family used the onsite... More

Well located next to the Chateau and the old city center. Comfort is relative; the great problem was the wifi which didn't work; the staff was either not able or not interested in providing a solution! The direction should really take care to provide efficient access.? Free access was one of the criteria for my booking

We stayed here for three nights en route to the Vendee from Dunkirk. It was perfect for what we wanted - a comfortable base from which to explore a few chateaux that was good value. We had a family room at the front of the hotel which was a great size for myself, my husband and our two sons (age... More

We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay while travelling north through France. This hotel fit the bill. We were generally surprised by how much we enjoyed our stay here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It's decorated in a quirky way and hasn't been updated in several decades. We thought we'd made a mistake until we prepared... More

If you are looking for a hotel with good facilities and a quiet nights sleep, this is not the one for you. The decor is terribly dated and the fixtures and fittings urgently need updating. Our family room was at the front of the hotel, which is situated on a busy road, therefore it was very noisy. I'm sure that... More
