We stayed here for a second time because the hotel has everything we needed, simple but adequate. The food in the restaurant is very good and there are some good local wines on the wine list. The owners and staff are very friendly, we will certainly stay here again when in the area.

This hotel was booked through Brittany Ferries as part of a car tour. For motorists, it was convenient, being on the edge of town with a large car park. The staff were helpful with good English and the rooms were of a good size. We ate in the restaurant one night and were very pleased. Breakfast was also good and... More

This is on the par with a Travelodge, dated in style but adequate for an overnight stay. It is set at least 1/2 a mile up a steep hill from the town centre which does not make it the most convenient of locations. They have a basement garage for bikes with a 'bike slope' to get the bikes up and... More

Like a previous reviewer, we arrived after a long hot day of cycling and the hellish ascent before reaching Hotel des Chateaux was soul destroying. After exploring the chateau, we couldn't face a third ascent of the hill in a day so stayed at the hotel for dinner and was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent food. The breakfast was... More

This was an attractive building just outside the town. The toilet was separate from the bathroom, which had a good shower but no shower curtain, meaning the bathroom floor can be quite wet, there was however “real” soap not the slippery liquid soap containers. The air-conditioning vent looked in need of a good clean, but the air in the room... More

Arriving after a long day cycling, we were so disappointed with the location of this hotel. First, if you are cycling, you must go thru the inviting town of Azay-Le-Rideau, go up an extremely steep hill that seems to last forever, then tackle a very busy round-about. There's your hotel. Right next to the round-about, facing heavy traffic and a... More

This small and cosy hotel, quietly located at walking distance from the famous castle of Azay-Le-Rideau, was our base for three days of exploring the middle part of the Loire valley. More great places like Villandry, Ussé and Chinon (just to name a couple) are only a short drive away. Our room was big and on the ground floor. Two... More

Hotel des Chateau is outside the town on a busy roundabout, but despite this is reasonably quiet. Our "chambre standing" was simple but spacious and comfortable on the ground floor with a small private terrace. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the chateau which is one of the nicest we have visited.Uphill on the way back.Plenty of parking at the... We stayed one night and enjoyed the pretty reception area and outdoor patio. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant and were very pleased with the lamb and the beef dishes, as well as good house wine. Our French is quite weak, but the staff spoke English fluently. The breakfast the... More

We booked this hotel through Brittany Ferries, but upgraded the room directly with the hotel and paid the difference there. We had a "standing" room at 85 Euros per night which was excellent, with a small private terrace, very good bathroom and overhead fan if the weather had been warmer. Even though it is situated near a quite busy road,... More
