This place really is the quintessential gorgeous old French chateau surrounded by vines, run by the most charming family who also happen to produce fantastic bottles of white and rose wine, make the worlds most incredible jams, are polite, funny, hospitable, unintrusive and just generally make your stay a truly memorable one. We had the blue suite of rooms with... more

I stayed at Chateau de Pintray with my daughter, son-in-law and grand-daughter and we simply loved the ambiance of being in the middle of a vinyard with no noise except the occasional hot-air balloon overhead. We so much liked the location, the lovely hosts, the rooms and the company of other travelers that we extended our stay there for another... more

Chateau de Pintray is a charming place to stay for a visit to the Loire Valley. It's location is very central, but it is about 6km from the nearest town which means you have to travel for meals as they do not offer any meals other than breakfast. The chateau is gorgeous, antiques everywhere and decorated in a lovely relaxed... more

A very charming B&B located in a country manor type home a few km west of Amboise. We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. The room was HUGE, tastefully decorated and we had a superb breakfast each morning. It was a great location from which one can easily tour the area's towns and numerous chateaux. We found Maryvonne... more

Chateau de Pintray is a bit off-the-beaten path, but maybe that's what's so wonderful about it. I do wish the website had provided better directions, as it was very hard to find! But once we got there, we found it to be very charming. If you're expecting a real "chateau," i.e.a castle, that's not really what this is - it's... more

You cannot do better for a country, B&B experience. Mary, the proprietress, is a delight. Our family room, actually a huge apartment of two rooms plus a bathroom, was more than adequate for our family of five. The feeling is of staying in an older relative’s mansion; the rooms are scattered with books, games, and other knickknacks. The grounds include... more

One of our best decisions when booking this trip was to stay at the Chateau de Pintray! Practically it made a great base in the middle of the Loire Valley, being not too far from most things and so ideal for sight seeing. You could combine the luxury of returning to a tranquil chateau at the end of a hard... more

This is a great place to stay if you want peace and quiet and it is only a few miles from Amboise. The breakfasts are good, Marie is friendly and the homegrown wine couldn't be better. Five euros/bottle just can't be beat. We enjoyed several picnic dinners watching the sun set over the vineyard. they also have large family rooms. more

We’ve stayed in this small chateau for two nights. The chateau goes back to the Middle-Ages: the first mention is dated 1467. And such long history can be felt living the rooms and the lounge, or simply spending some hours relaxing outside in the courtyard. We’ve occupied two rooms at the ground floor. They are incredible large and charming and... more
