We were pleasantly surprised with the The Le Clos d'Amboise, although upon check-in were not sure if we had made a good selection. We arrived quite late due to traffic and navigation issues (which the night-time attendant quickly let us know she was not pleased of our late arrival as you must arrive prior to 11 p.m. in order to... more

Le Clos D'Amboise was exactly as presented on its site. We were looking for great examples of "True France" as inspiration for an event center in the US. This place had that great combination of French style but still had the creature comforts that many Americans just can't do without. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable with a recently-redone... more

We arrived at the hotel an hour before the official check-in time, and the staff were in the garden taking a break. However as soon as they saw our car come through the gates they immediately came to meet us, and showed us where to park and took us and our luggage to our room. We had a superior room... more

I found this hotel lovely, well kept, clean and very charming. The breakfast was very good. The location is great, right in the center of Amboise. You can walk to the castle, shops and restaurant. The only complain I had was about the owner, he had kind of an attitude and was complaining about some clients that were loud the... more

This was my second stay at Le Clos. The hostess is very welcoming, helpful, speaks excellent english and does very good breakfasts. We stayed in the newly converted stable block which provides a large bedroom with a generous shower. There is a small courtyard outside the room and extensive grounds to walk in. The location is very quiet and great... more

Le Clos is the perfect place for the couple looking for a little bit of romance while remaining close to the touristy bits of the Medieval town of Amboise. We stayed in room 5, a ‘Confort superieur’ room in the main building, furnished with a huge four-poster bed. The room has views over the very well kept park, with its... more

I have stayed at Le Clos on four occasions now, and it just gets better. The ambience is superb, the rooms, gardens and the breakfast are all the best I have ever stayed at and top my value for money charts, and I have stayed in some very expensive 'international' hotels around the world. Just the most perfect place to... more

As others have said this is a restored 200 year old manor house/townhouse, with stables/coach house and large garden on the edge of the old heart of Amboise. It is on a busy, narrow, one way street and the turn in through the gate is extremely narrow. Once in, the parking is very tight but we didn't have much trouble.... more

The Clos d'Amboise was a great place to stay while touring that part of the Loire Valley. The room was small and no elevator, but the location was excellent. The lady in charge was very friendly and spoke excellent English. (The man who took over for her on occasion was very rude, but just ignore him). She helped us out... more
