This hotel is set up in two rich historical houses in Amboise. And there you have all its charm and convenience: you can walk to the Amboise castle, and to Leonardo da Vinci 's castle; you can stroll to the many restaurants in Amboise. The small garden (with a pool in the back) is inviting and quiet. The rooms in the... More

Due to bad weather we made last minute reservations at this hotel on line while in France for one night.. I wish we could have stayed longer. It is a old but charming hotel. It was very quiet and clean. Our bathroom did not have a walkin type shower, it was a big tub with a hand held sprayer. We... More

If you want a refreshing change from bland chain hotels, try this welcoming oasis in the old centre of Amboise. The film-set building is a delight, complete with creaky floorboards and heavy duty furniture. The fine weather allowed us to enjoy the garden and the outdoor pool. Breakfast, which is excellent, can be served on the terrace. We could not... More

Location= A Service = A Breakfast = A- Room = B- It is an old building so there is a lot of charm but with that comes some compromises, e.g. a column in the room that we had to walk around to get to the bathroom...

Thank you for your comments, we always try to do the best for our guests. It is true that the charm of an old house can not permit us to do what we want in decoration. Best regards, More

We stayed for few days. The location is perfect and in the centre of Amboise, very close to the famous castle. The rooms are comfortable - we had 2 junior suites - and clean. Being franc, I had one of the best sleeping in France. Breakfast is very good with the exception of the coffee quality. Waiters are very kind... More

We stayed here just for one night on our way further south. It is a lovely hotel set in nice grounds with a very pleasant swimming pool. We were travelling with our dog and were given a room which was on the ground floor and very near to the entrance of the hotel. It looked as if, before conversion, it... More

We booked this hotel online and were very pleased with the outcome. The hotel is near the river, Chateau Royal d'Amboise, Chateau du Clos Luce(Leonardo da Vinci's last home), Chateau de Chenonceau and Chambord. We found good restaurants nearby and had a very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. The staff was very helpful especially Pauline. Our rooms were well... More

I can't really say much about this hotel or town as we only stopped one night while passing by the area. What we did see though was impressive and we have both the establishment and the town on our "must come back list". The building is old and quite charming in the old part of town within a couple of... More

We spent five nights here in July. The hotel is just ok. Not deserving of four stars. Rooms were large but in need of maintenance, gardens were also not well presented. We had no wifi in our room for the whole stay despite daily promises that it would be fixed. Over priced for what you get.

We were hoping for a romantic night and have booked over the phone with a promise of a superior room on ground floor. Our advise is to confirm all promises by email. On arrival we were given a room on 2nd floor, small cramped, very dated bathroom and not romantic!! The very nice lady at reception tried her best and... More
