Terrible experience at Chateau de Pray, Amboise in 04/08. Hotel management was rude and unreasonable. Hospitality is non-existent at this hotel ! Breakfast is lame. Fairly interesting Chateau to visit but wouldn't stay there again. Furnishings OK but the bed which they said was 18th Century was quite small for 2 people and I don't think they had bought a new mattress for the bed since new! Very lumpy - not a good night's sleep. Dinner was OK but very overpriced as was the accommodation. more

Although the decor is charming (French style) the room was constantly damp with a very strong smell of chemical products. It was so strong that it kept me awake all night. Location: Located not too far from Amboise town center and Cheateau d’Amboise. However, one still has to drive to get to the center. Walking is possible-about 30 minutes or so. This place is magical. We arrived on a golden evening, and received a warm reception. The chateau has been lovingly restored and maintained. The bedroom was very comfortable without compromising the original charm. The bathroom was sumptious with luxurious soaps and body lotions.
