This is our second visit to Amboise and our second stay with Madame Viard at Au Charme Rabelaisien. It was just as wonderful as our first visit. Madame Viard has three B&B rooms, we stayed in the Couture room on both visits to Amboise. This home is hundreds of years old and has been restored and wonderfully maintained. All of... More

An absolutely idyllic spot in the center of Amboise with rooms surrounding a Beautiful garden and pool. Rooms and baths large and luxurious. Madame Sylvie is a whirlwind wonder who can't do enough to accommodate her guests and make your stay memorable and comfortable. Breakfast is beautifully presented and delicious. A must stay in Amboise, we'd return in a minute.

We had an absolutely lovely stay in the Nature room (which is really a large suite rather than a room). It was separate from the main house affording a good deal of privacy, peace and quiet and also had lovely views of the garden and pool. The secure, covered parking behind the property was very convenient and spacious. As others... More

This property is a great place to stay in Amboise. The location is an easy walk to all attractions and Sylvie is one of the most gracious hostesses we have ever had the good fortune to stay with. We stayed in a large ground floor room overlooking the beautiful garden. The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was... More

We stayed overnight in Sylvie's place. We arrived late from Mont St. Michel and Monsieur was very kind to wait up for us. We had a comfortable place for the night, cozy bed and clean towels and high quality amenities. The next day was an exciting one having met Madam Sylvie, the children wanted to stay longer if not pressed... More

Very nice B & B in old town. The room is very private & sits on a quiet courtyard. Good restaurants & the chateau are within easy walking distance. The owner is very nice & helpful & her breakfast is the best we had on our trip.

I stayed here for 4 nights in September and it was lovely. The home is beautifully appointed and the attention to detail is great, everything is spotlessly clean and the place exudes charm from the moment you walk in. Mme Sylvie is a wonderful hostess, she has a lovely warm and welcoming manner and is super helpful, her perfect English... More

My wife and I stayed for four nights at this wonderful B&B in Amboise as a pwrt of our honeymoon in France in late September. I'll get the basics out of the way first - the B&B is a short 5 min stroll away from the restaurants in Amboise, has about 4 or five rooms, a pool, nice back yard... More

We spent a week at Au Charme Rabelaisien in September whilst exploring the chateaux and towns in this area of the Loire Valley. Mme Sylvie is a perfect host; she is warm and friendly, offering advice on your day’s itinerary without being intrusive. We had one of the lovely spacious garden rooms overlooking the pool, the rooms are kept spotlessly... More

I only stayed one night, but what an amazing place! Mme Sylvie could not have been more welcoming - even getting up at 6am to see me off to my early train. The whole place smells like some amazing French perfume - but not in a cloying way. There's private parking in one of the best locations in the wonderful... More
