We stayed here for three nights while touring in the Loire Valley. On the plus side, we found it easy to park free about 1/2 mile away in several public lots. The hotel is well located and within walking distance of many restaurants, shopping, the river and the Royal Chateau. The breakfasts were typically French, but adequate and the management... More

We, two ladies, booked the Chaptal for two nights in May. We were given room 3 which is on the first floor (reception is on the ground floor), there is no elevator. We had two twin beds, tv, phone, the room was very small. The even smaller bathroom had a glassed-in shower and was very good. Wifi was free but... More

The room was a bit small but it was well equipped. We had booked only the room and the receptionist told us that breakfast was excellent so we decided to have it there although we had to decide at the time of checking in since they needed to know numbers to buy some bread and pastries the morning after. Breakfast... More

The room was nothing special, but it was comfortable, safe and quiet. There is no elevator so it was hard on old knees and back. The staff were very nice and helpful and told us where there was free parking nearby (the hotel does not have parking, but we found a spot right around the corner). The breakfast was the... More

A clean small hotel near the center of town. Nothing fancy. The bathroom has recently been redone and is very modern. The shower is a descent size. No elevator. We are in a very quiet room towards the rear of the hotel. No street noise. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a convenient location, reasonable price... More

Central location in Amboise so easy walking to all the town tourist areas. A bit of a stair climb to our third story (or was it 2.5 story?) room. The room was smallish but perhaps average for France. There was some traffic noise early the next morning but it may just have been garbage day. I believe we paid for... More

Thank goodness we booked in advance because Amboise seems to be fully booked every Saturday night. We searched on line for a good budget hotel for one night en route to Le Havre and were not disappointed. The reception lady was very nice and helpful. Our room was small but well equipped although by no means luxurious. There is no... More

This is a small hotel, with friendly staff just a few minutes away from the shops and about 5 minutes walk to the Chateau or river. We paid €56 for a double room which was on the small side but the bed was comfortable and it had an adequate en-suite, but at that price, this was great value. Breakfast is... More

This is a no frills but none the less clean and comfortable hotel perfectly located in one of the old and narrow streets of Amboise; just a very short walk from the chateau and many restaurant.s . We stayed there for 3 nights in late June, whilst we explored this lovely part of the Loire Valley, and though our rioom... More

Set in the medieval street of Amboise, this hotel is in an old building but is totally modern inside. The location is quiet despite the narrow streets and a good nights sleep was had even with the windows open. Very well located for all the bars and restaurants in the town centre and a short walk from the Chateau entrance.... More
