Large and confortable bed. Spacious bathroom . Clean. Old style furniture. No hair dryer, no safe in room. Just a shampoo mini bottle, mini soap, shower cap. Bring your own. Had dinner at their Gastronomic restaurant. Was fine. Strict minimum for a buffet breakfast. Friendly personnel . Excellent location of the hotel .

We spent the night in Vézelay after driving from Beaune. The hotel is very well run and the staff were very courteous. As others have remarked, it does host some group travelers; as this is probably the only hotel of any size in the town this is probably inevitable. However, we were in a lovely room on the first floor... More

Had a three night stay. Great location, nice and clean room. On the downside: too expensive, both hotel and restaurant. Restaurant prices are in Michelin one star region. Across the street you can eat at the same level for half the price. Wines too are overpriced.

Oh dear, I just read the review below. We were amongst the coach trippers and had a great stay at the Hotel de Poste. No idea why the restaurant was full as we were fed downstairs in a conference room. Hotel is clean, views are great and staff a fine. The downside is that the bar is very pricey and... More

Booked a Grand Lit room for 2 nights on the internet and ended up with a two bedded room. Staff were off hand, said all the rooms were the same price which clearly on the internet they are not so had to swallpw the higher rate. Told dining room was full at Poste et Lion d'Or so found and ate... More

Booked through a tour so can't comment on price. The view was amazing and the room was nice; however, it didn't have a shower, just a bathtub with hand attachment so required some gymnastics to get clean. The air conditioner (while I'm grateful that there was one!!) made randomly spaced loud noises, concentrated between 1 and 1:30am, which was annoying.... More

The best part of this hotel was the view from the room. At checkin the hotel clerk pressured us to make a reservation in the hotel's dining room at the risk of not getting a table. We didn't even wish to dine there. The room was very dated and had a bad smell. The bathroom was basic with sad lighting.... More

We booked this hotel through Booking.com and so did not feel it was overpriced. The rooms are very charming & all have really nice views. The breakfast room is wonderful and I especially like the older part of the hotel with its wooden staircase. But the updates are nice, too--the elevator, the bar & tea area was nice for a... More

We stayed in an upper floor room with nice views. The room appeared to have been newly carpeted and the bathroom had been refurbished (the shower enclosure was not adequate for the updated shower and you could not help but get water all over so this is going to be a problem in the future). The hotel was overpriced (the... More

Stayed for one night in June 2013. Room was new renovated, especially the bath / WC are more stylish than practicable. Location is great. Price; way to high for French countryside. Restaurant I cannot judge, I was eating just opposite - by the way very good dinner - compared to the listed menues for half the price.
