First Impressions The restaurant is within the luxury 5 star hotel and decorated in a traditional French style with the modern contemporary touches. This is part of the Bernard Loiseau Group, the late, but great, French culinary genius. The head chef Patrick Bertron is a culinary master and produces great food Loiseau style. Saulieu would not be a regular tourist... More

Pleasant staff and very nice and traditional deco. Food was not quite to my wife's liking, which may just be because of her own preference. A shame that they put the towel rail to the maximum heat, my wife burned her arm by accident. When we mentioned this to the receptionist, she did not know how to react and did... More

We stayed here one night mainly to eat in the restaurant. Our welcome was warm and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a better room. The room was large with traditional furnishings and had a small balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. After an aperitif in the garden we decided to eat a la carte and this was a... More

I visited the Restaurant with a friend during a one week trip in Burgundy wine growing region. I was lucky enough to dine in several different exquisite establishment and I was blessed to dine at Bernard Loiseau. The hotel and restaurant are located in the heart of Burgundy in a peaceful French village: Saulieu. The car trip in the countryside... More

Comfortable hotel and lovely bedroom with lovely view. The food was fine and the wine was fabulous but the meal overall wasn't outstanding or memorable just trading on its heyday which then was fantastic time and Bernard have passed.

This was a visit to sample the fine dining. It was very good with some great flavours and textures. Expensive - but then it dies have 3 stars. interesting that El Cellar de Can Roca ( currently world number 1 and 3 stars) is cheaper and more inventive. I remain confused at Michelin's grading criteria. Can't see why this restaurant... More

We had a package including room, breakfast and lunch. It was absolutely superb: the welcome was warm and friendly and the meal was typical Burgundy food, beautifully cooked and presented, accompanied by delicious local wines. A succulent breakfast was served in a lovely heritage room. Our spacious room with careful and tasteful decoration overlooked the lovely enclosed garden in which... More

This property is a gem in Burgundy. Its a bit off the beaten path if you wish to visit Burgundian Wine Chateaux. But the lodging and dining experiences were fantastic. Perfect for foodies who love Burgundy wines. The hotel has a complete collection of Burgundy wines with a computer controlled wine dispenser that facilitates tasting of as many wines as... More

Michelin starred food in a beautiful location. Our french friends and my wife and I have been here for a few special occasions. We all had a package which included room and breakfast and evening meal. What a delight, the welcome was amazing, everyone with whom we came in contact treated us brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were... More

Charming Hotel with luxurious rooms and amazing Michelin Starred food. The welcome is warm and friendly and the gardens are stunning. I cannot fault the food, it was typically french burgundy food, a bit rich, but beautifully cooked and presentation is unbelievable.
