We had a 2-night getaway at Relais Bernard Loiseau, based on the small distance from Paris, but mostly on its reputation. I can't believe I stayed at the same place as the 2 previous reviewers. Reservation and special arrangements were made 2 months ahead of stay over the phone with a charming attendant who took well over 30 minutes to... More

I had high expectations for this hotel given that it had a 3 Michelin star restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is charming. The decoration is a bit eclectic with a mix of traditional (the drawing rooms) and modern (the bar area). The spa is functional, but on the small side. The sauna and swimming pools felt a bit... This was a classic example of what might have been a good hote, but is now resting on its laurels and trading on the reputation of its now sadly deceased chef patron. The hotel was very over commercialised, and the staff excelled in upselling guests anything they could whether it was on the menu or off it, often with no... More

We stayed for one night on our way down to the South of France. We went out of our way to go for the food, however this was disappointing. We have eaten at many three Michellin starred restaurants and this did not live up to expectation. We had the tasting menu and it really did not have the wow factor,... More

This Little country inn is unique. Everything was perfect, the attention to detail goes well beyond any hotel including the supposed best in the world. I am very difficult to please but this experience was faultless, every mouthful of food was exquisite, every thing in the room was tasteful and thought through. I can't wait to go back

Let's first mention that we heard of Relais Bernard Loiseau many times and always positively, hence high expectations. Well, how put it...It was just a fantastic week end. To satrt with, rooms (ours was on a terrace on the garden) are nice, spacious and cosy. I am not 100% convinced with the seventies look of the big and nice bathroom... More

On this trip we stayed at Lameloise, and two smaller guesthouses. Bernard Loiseau was supposed to be the highlight, but left us with very mixed feelings, so I will just list pros and cons. Pros: - room was lovely - huge and well appointed. Full set of TV channels and good guestbook, and a bowl of fresh walnuts to crack... More

Room was very nice, dinner was disappointing. Specially the desert "la poire qui dance" was really a flop. “Architecture en chocolat “was not much better. Wines were only acceptable, and we were in Burgundy !!. Prices are high enough to admit greater expectations. Was good, could have been better. We don't plan to go back. Nevertheless I would not say you... More
