Hard to fault this place, particularly when you know the history and legacy of the hotel and restaurant. The building looks a little out of place and nostalgic of older times, but with loads and loads of character. I visited with my fiancée as the last stop of our 2-week France road trip, located neatly between Cannes and Calais. Upon... More

The hotel was very nice but nothing out of the ordinary. The room was huge, lots of storage, well appointed bathroom, but everything was a bit stuffy and didn't impress me as overly tastefully decorated. We stayed on a Monday, on a 495-euro special including the stay, dinner, breakfast, and a cooking demonstration. Actually, the cooking demonstration was the best... More

This is a very attractive hotel/spa/restaurant in Burgundy. The rooms are what you'd expect of a luxury establishment and well maintained. The service is friendly and excellent. They have a great collection of Burgundy wines. Unfortunatelyl, the food is a big disappointment. The meal we had as part of a package deal was hardly that of a 3* Michelin establishment... More

This was one our favourite hotels during our trip to France this year. The accommodation was spacious, peaceful and comfortable. We dined in the restaurant which we found to be quite traditional and old fashioned. There was so much food I really couldn't finish most of the courses. Loved the breakfast. No buffet, its brought to your table - much... More

Quiet, comfortable, secluded, great details on rooms and shared areas. Very small town, true off the beaten path; Bernard Louiseau Store is a must to visit next door. The Restaurant is magnificent; minus a very rude Maitre D that seems is forcing herself to work everyday. All the servers and waiters are so gentle, nice and knowledgeable that make up for... More

First Impressions The restaurant is within the luxury 5 star hotel and decorated in a traditional French style with the modern contemporary touches. This is part of the Bernard Loiseau Group, the late, but great, French culinary genius. The head chef Patrick Bertron is a culinary master and produces great food Loiseau style. Saulieu would not be a regular tourist... More

Pleasant staff and very nice and traditional deco. Food was not quite to my wife's liking, which may just be because of her own preference. A shame that they put the towel rail to the maximum heat, my wife burned her arm by accident. When we mentioned this to the receptionist, she did not know how to react and did... More

We stayed here one night mainly to eat in the restaurant. Our welcome was warm and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a better room. The room was large with traditional furnishings and had a small balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. After an aperitif in the garden we decided to eat a la carte and this was a... More

I visited the Restaurant with a friend during a one week trip in Burgundy wine growing region. I was lucky enough to dine in several different exquisite establishment and I was blessed to dine at Bernard Loiseau. The hotel and restaurant are located in the heart of Burgundy in a peaceful French village: Saulieu. The car trip in the countryside... More
