During 2 weeks of summer vacation in Burgundy, we also spent 3 nights here. Cool reception, a beautiful room and a charming garden. Surprisingly quiet in the middle of a town. Service in the garden was inattentive, needed to go looking for someone to take orders. Service during dinner at the hotel was focussed mainly on the French guests, leaving... more

On the basis of the good reviews it receives - including those on this site - we selected this restaurant and hotel as the venue for celebrating my 40th birthday. While the hotel itself was reasonably good and the staff courteous, the restaurant was a significant disappointment on almost every level. The food was not up to the standard of... more

The rooms were large, the staff great and the hotel had that true 'Relais & Chateau' feel about it. The spa is also magnificent and the grounds beautiful. I love how the modern bar/restaurant entrance is juxtaposed with the old hotel. The restaurant is nice, the food has been overrated by Michelin, however the rating may be by vritue of... more

We stayed at the Bernard Loiseau for 2 nights on the final leg of our honeymoon - a whirlwind tour of southern France. The service was attentive, our room was lovely, overlooking the garden, and the spa facilities were great. The town is very pleasant with the local cheese and wine shops well worth a visit. The only slight disappointment... more

I stayed in a deluxe room with king size bed. The room was quite nice and comfortable. I was also quite pleased with the hotel facilities: pool, sauna, fitness center all working in perfect condition. The restaurant experience is what disappointed me a little. Since this was a 3 star michelin rated restaurant, I expected the best of it. However,... more

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights Easter 2007. Obviously the main attraction is the 3 Michelin star restaurant, but the hotel has beautiful rooms and gardens. Our superior room (47) had a pretty terrace, many exposed beams, large bathroom and a super-king bed. The restaurant is perfection, mixing the heritage of Bernard Loiseau's signature recipes with new inventions... more

In a quiet town and although the building is on the main road most of the rooms are at the back. We had a suite made up of two very large rooms on the ground floor. This was perfect for the family as the gardens at the back were easily accessible as was the spa. The décor is classic with... more

Just returned from a trip to the 'Bourgogne', which included a 70 km side-drive from Beaune to Saulieu for an overnight stay at "La Côte d'Or". The first impression was a little disappointing, because the hotel faces the highway, as it crosses the town of Saulieu. The city used to be a stopover to rest the horses in the long... more

Have just returned after five days at this wonderful hotel. Stylish public rooms, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, spotlessly clean, wonderful English-style garden with secluded heated pool. Michelin 3* restaurant excellent, service the best ever. Staff attentive, but unobtrusive, friendly and humorous. Every need seemed to be anticiated and nothing was too much trouble for them. Sheer heaven. more
