Stayed here on Saturday night while driving back through France. It's very centrally located for anyone going south to the Med or to the ski resorts. Grounds amazing as you drive in,and we didn't see them at their best, and a very friendly welcome. Had a junior suite which was lovely, windows opened out looking over the gardens, with a really... The Abbaye de la Bussiere will remain one my favorite hotels of all time. We are great fans of traditional architecture, decor and natural beauty, as well as fine food. We found it ALL here. The service was excellent (a special thanks to Michael who graciously showed us around and gave us all the incredible history as well as being... More

This was our second visit and it was as perfect as we remembered (even down to the otter in the lake!). The service is very relaxed - attentive without being stuffy. We ate in the gourmet restaurant each night and the food was outstanding. Our suite was huge and beautifully furnished. We will definitely return!

What a gem. My wife and I stayed here with my family last spring and it was one of the most memorable accommodations we have ever been to. The location is a bit remote but that's what made it so great. You're in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by woods and tucked into a 12th century abbey. There is... More

A very old abbaye which was beautiful restored. Congratulations to the family cummings which own this beautifull place. Dinner was more as good and and absolute dream. Rooms were more... More

Visited the Abbaye for 2 days in Oct 2014 as part of a longer stay in the region. We loved the property and our rooms were really nice. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly. However...the restaurant is over rated and the food seemed to miss the mark. All four of us were a bit disappointed and would generally agree... More

I would have expected this restaurant to have been very child-unfriendly (a grand setting and a reputation as a high-class restaurant) so I was delighted to find that the service was truly excellent. The front-of-house staff and the waiters were very welcoming and attentive, and made sure that we didn't feel ill at ease. Although our request to eat outside... More

Absolutely gorgeous hotel that is worthy of its Relais et Chateaux badge. The setting was absolutely magical and walking around the grounds on a summer evening made me think I should be travelling like this ALL the time. We had a room up on the top floor and it was a bit of a pain walking up there with luggage,... More

This is one of the most unusual and beautiful hotels we have ever been in. The setting is superb with lovely grounds and gardens. We had a room in one of the outer buildings but our friends stayed in the main building and were equally impressed. The Proprietor was always around--he even helped us with bags when we arrived--and you... More

On a cycling trip in France, we stayed a few nights at this gorgeous hotel. It was once a monastery and dates back to 1135. In 2005 it was sold and the current owner has done the most spectacular job of restoring and renovating it into a very deluxe hotel, while maintaining all the charming features of its original buildings....
