This wildly romantic property has a touch of Downton Abbey in its wonderful quirky features. The Abbaye itself is breathtaking and restored and furnished with great panache. The public rooms are comfortable and plentiful. Our spacious bedroom (Bussiere?) offered a very comfortable 4-poster canopied bed with brocade hangings. The bath was immense and featured jacuzzi large enough for 4 people!... More

The highlight of the hotel is the beautiful architecture of this old abbey, exquisite sculpture collections within the property, good restaurant and the vast garden that you can relax in without having to get out. The location is a bit out of the way from the wine route but is worth spending a day or 2 here. Even though the... More

Though our bedroom required climbing 2 flights of stairs, it looked out over the beautiful lawn and pond on this beautiful property just steps from the Burgundy Canal. A small, comfortable room, Charite (the rooms are named, not numbered) has a bathroom that is huge, with a Jacuzzi and towel warmers. Dinner both nights we stayed here was wonderful. Our... More

My wife and I traveled through Brussels-Brugge-Paris-Dijon during our recent trip this month. By far, this hotel gave us the best night of our entire stay. When near Dijon, France, this is a "must" see and stay place. We met my sister and her husband for the night and they also loved it. This is an old convent (Abby) from... More

We stayed here for one night. We wish it had been longer. The room was very comfortable, the lunch was excellent, and the staff was most welcoming and friendly. We were served coffee and croissants on arrival because we arrived mid-morning. The toiletries are really lovely, and every detail of the bath has been carefully thought out. The grounds are... I stayed at the Abbaye during a bike trip to Burgundy. I can't praise it enough. The grounds were immaculate, quiet and comforting. On a ten-day trip, this was, by far, my favorite place to stay. My room was satisfactorily large, well maintained, and, facing the back yard, light and lovely. I note that I am usually a single traveler,... More

Yes, it is an old Abby that has been converted into a stunning hotel, preserving everything that is magical about staying in an Abby. The outside, while beautiful shields the true character of what awaits you inside. The marble pillars and arches, stained glass windows, turrets, cozy little sitting rooms etc create a magical tranquil atmosphere, which you won't want... More

I took my husband to Burgundy as a birthday treat as he had always wanted to visit the region. We spent 3 nights at the Abbaye and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is in a quiet location but not too far from some of the key places to visit. The setting is very tranquil and the building has been tastefully... More

We stayed at the Abbaye for one night as part of a bicycle trip in Burgundy and wished we could have lingered longer. The property is absolutely beautiful - inside and out -idyllic really. We had a room under the eaves (beware though of the two long stairways up) which was luxe and comfortable with a wonderful bathroom. We ate... More

This is an absolutely fabulous hotel in the midst of the finest countryside and nearby vineyards that produce the best Burgundy wines. The Abbaye has been owner Clive's baby since it was rescued. He is the most enthusiastic owner you will come across, and together with his wife, and now children, has created an oasis of calm in a busy... More
