We stayed here for 1 night with our children aged 13 and 11 on our way to the alps for our summer holiday. We wished we could have stayed longer and hopefully we will get the opportunity again. The place is simply beautiful and credit goes to the owners who have obviously put a lot of time and effort in... More

As everyone has already noted, this is undeniably a stunning location. Friendly welcome upon arrival, nice gesture of bringing home-made, refreshing lavendar flavoured drinks to the room with pain d'epices .... We also enjoyed the lovely setting of Le Bistrot's terrace for a three course lunch. I thought the food was very good and the prices very reasonable. Therefore all... More

Dear JoJo, Thank you for your review and nice comments regarding the welcome, buildings and gardens. With your other comments. Your husband said best meal ever and you not so. Not everyone has the same taste. The portable Air conditioner's. They are there because of demand. Not ideal and only temporary until I am able to install permanent ones which... More

Amazing grand old building with great service and fantastic large rooms with luxurious amenities provided. Great spot to base oneself for touring around the Burgundy region, our only regret was that it is probably nicer in spring/summer rather than winter when we stayed there, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

We are extremely used to Relais Chateaux and have been to more than 30 of them in France and are travelling all over the world in the best trendy luxurious places... The place is outstanding and was very beautifully refurbished, the room are also nice. Careful the main restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays even is peak season!! Instead... More

Dear Julien S, Your letter of confirmation did explain that the Gourmet restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesday’s and that dinner on those 2 evenings is served in the “Bistro des Moines” I am aware that you wanted to dine in our Gourmet restaurant and that this is why you checked out a day early and that under my... Had a lovely two night stay here with our daughter, we took bikes out and toured the region including beautiful Beaune, The Abbaye was fantastic and so lovingly restored. We preferred the more casual restaurant but in essence cannot fault the place and would highly recommend.

Great overall impression of the craftfully restored building and beautiful gardens. The building has quite a few steep stairs,no elevator, so climb to your room .The "nice" room we reserved turned out to be a very tiny room ( chambre de bonne) with so many beams, one could not move around without bumping into a beam.Tiniest of bathrooms. Add a stand alone,noisy,airco... More

Dear RemcoD, Thank you for your review. We opened the Abbaye in 2006 with only 9 rooms, and now we have 18. The first rooms had to forgo built in Air Con, hence the portable units installed after. The latest renovated rooms have built in Air Con. If finance allows then next years project is to install built in Air... More

This is my most favorite hotel, ever. You drive up to the most picturesque, tranquil property and are greeted by Michael who gives you a tour and gets your bags. The hotel is an old abbaye, which has been meticulously restored and is so interesting. After a short rest and a whirlpool bath, we sat outside and drank champagne, before... More

This is our third trip to the Abbaye. We love the personal touch, being greeted by Michael, he remembered us from our previous visit. Made us feel welcome and at home. The amazing food prepared for us by Emmanuel was excellent. The sommelier Freddie was great, recommending great wines to our taste and paired excellently with the food. Our suite... More

Abbaye is a beautiful property but if I had to do it over again I would stay elsewhere and perhaps visit this establishment for dinner. The website I think oversells the property which is certainly beautiful but also very old. The real disappointment on the stay comes from a variety of factors mainly due to a severe lack of staff/service.... More

Dear Alfredthereviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on your recent stay at the Abbaye. Rome was not built in a day. Hostellerie de Levernois has been open for over 30 years. We opened in 2006 with only 9 rooms and now we have 18 rooms and eventually we have the capacity for 34 rooms. When... More

A fabulous, jaw-droppingly beautiful hotel. A converted abbey with gorgeous grounds. Attention to detail is superb. Michelin starred food quite extraordinary. It would be impossible not to fall in love with this place. Welcoming champagne and creme de cassis in the suite when we arrived, bulgari toiletries. perfect. The boating lake is lovely, the bicycles were great to explore along the... More
