Had a lovely two night stay here with our daughter, we took bikes out and toured the region including beautiful Beaune, The Abbaye was fantastic and so lovingly restored. We preferred the more casual restaurant but in essence cannot fault the place and would highly recommend.

Great overall impression of the craftfully restored building and beautiful gardens. The building has quite a few steep stairs,no elevator, so climb to your room .The "nice" room we reserved turned out to be a very tiny room ( chambre de bonne) with so many beams, one could not move around without bumping into a beam.Tiniest of bathrooms. Add a stand alone,noisy,airco... More

This is my most favorite hotel, ever. You drive up to the most picturesque, tranquil property and are greeted by Michael who gives you a tour and gets your bags. The hotel is an old abbaye, which has been meticulously restored and is so interesting. After a short rest and a whirlpool bath, we sat outside and drank champagne, before... More

This is our third trip to the Abbaye. We love the personal touch, being greeted by Michael, he remembered us from our previous visit. Made us feel welcome and at home. The amazing food prepared for us by Emmanuel was excellent. The sommelier Freddie was great, recommending great wines to our taste and paired excellently with the food. Our suite... More

Abbaye is a beautiful property but if I had to do it over again I would stay elsewhere and perhaps visit this establishment for dinner. The website I think oversells the property which is certainly beautiful but also very old. The real disappointment on the stay comes from a variety of factors mainly due to a severe lack of staff/service.... More

Dear Alfredthereviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on your recent stay at the Abbaye. Rome was not built in a day. Hostellerie de Levernois has been open for over 30 years. We opened in 2006 with only 9 rooms and now we have 18 rooms and eventually we have the capacity for 34 rooms. When... More

A fabulous, jaw-droppingly beautiful hotel. A converted abbey with gorgeous grounds. Attention to detail is superb. Michelin starred food quite extraordinary. It would be impossible not to fall in love with this place. Welcoming champagne and creme de cassis in the suite when we arrived, bulgari toiletries. perfect. The boating lake is lovely, the bicycles were great to explore along the... More

I rarely write Tripadvisor reviews as I never have enough time and thus the times I do write something are because I am compelled to do so either by an extraordinarily bad or outstandingly good experience. This hotel fits squarely in the latter. And as inferred by the title, the wonder of the exterior as one drives through the gates... More

L' Abbaye de la Bussiere is quite simply one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in around the world. Located in the heart of France's wine region, the village is enchanting, you weave through the lanes and then the huge entrance gates open into the property. The driveway winds up next to the lake, with views across the... More

Formerly a summer palace, this historic building has been lovingly and painstakingly restored and turned into a luxury hotel. The parkland area is very tranquil, set in a leafy valley. The restaurant is excellent and all the rooms are individual and well appointed. The English owner is on hand to greet you. The service is discrete and relaxed.

My wife and I chose to spend or 30th wedding anniversary here. The place was built in the 12th century, and is absolutely beautiful The staff are friendly, the food to die for and the choice of wines outstanding We ate at the gourmet restaurant one night , and at the brasserie on the second night. The gourmet restaurant is... More
