When we first saw the fotos and You tube video on the web site for Abbaye de la Bussiere we could hardly believe how beautiful the setting was - and how stunning it would be to stay in a converted 12th century abbey. But the Abbaye proved to be even better than fotos and videos can depict. Starting with our... More

My friends and I were having a 20 year reunion of our French study abroad program in Dijon. On our last night together we booked dinner reservations at the Abbaye, which is about a 30 min car ride from Beaune. What an amazing way to end our weekend. The Abbaye is beautifully situated on gorgeous, lush grounds. Funnily enough we... More

We spent two nights after our wedding in Sainte Sabine at this fabulous Relais Château. He park as well as the buildings of the old Abbaye are just stunning. The first night we had dinner at the restaurant gastronomique, the second at the brasserie des Moines. The menu surprise in the Michelin-starred restaurant was very good. The mousserons mushrooms on... More

We spent 2 nights here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, as it was a special occasion we decided to treat ourselves with 10 of our friends. We dined in a private room, which was simply stunning! The food was out of this world with wines to match. The surrounding grounds and the Abbaye itself are just totally stunning, steeped... More

Beautiful building and grounds. Food was fantastic tho we went a la carte rather than the full tasting menu as I can't face so many courses. The wine selection was great and the help from the sommelier was perfect for regional options. All of the staff were very helpful and I genuinely felt very well looked after. It's not easy... More

I realise that to stay at the Abbaye costs a little or a lot more than many can afford. We decided to just go for it and have two nights there. We had been in Europe over a month, staying in homes from air b and b etc. The whole experience started driving through the ancient villages along the river... More

The good: - Gorgeous, one-of-a-kind hotel grounds and building.Like staying at a museum. - Friendly, personal and professional service. Lovely hosts. - Cozy public bar and separate lounge rooms for guests - Delicious food (Bistro and Restaurant on site) The bad: - A little far from Dijon (but drive is somewhat scenic) - Breakfast is on the simpler side considering... As you drive through the gates and onto the grounds, you know you are somewhere special! Our stay at this hotel was one of the most memorable for the following reasons: • The Building has been beautifully restored and offers a number of elegant parlour rooms and studies; • The Concierge, Michael, is extremely passionate about what he does, very... We booked 3 nights at this facility in advance and paid a $440 Euro ($600 US dollars) deposit to hold the reservation. We stayed in France for 17 days, and this was the facility I had looked forward to visiting the most. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short due to an infestation of gnats in their hotel bistro. We had... More
