We stopped at this hotel overnight, en route from Italy to northern France. The staff were very warm and helpful and spoke English with us. A very good example for a Best Western hotel. Old French hotel, centre of Bourg-en-Bresse. Locked garage for car, but plenty of parking right outside. Now, Bourg-en-Bresse is not the centre of the universe, it's a small town, but there are things tro see and do. Stayed here twice when driving to and from the French Alps - it's approximately 7.5 hours from Calais and and 2.5 hours to Courchevel. Traditional French hotel located in the centre of Bourg en Bresse. Bedrooms are fairly basic but good value and clean. Continental breakfast was good and dinner in the adjoining Chez Blanc restaurant was excellent. more

This was our third stay at Hotel De France, it is a great stop over on the way south. The staff is courteous and the room is quite adequate for a reasonable price. The location is central, walk to everything the town offers. more
