Stayed here twice, 2004 and 2006 on wine buying vacations. Ideally situated for the Burgundy region, and ideal for a day out to explore the Chablis region. Very clean, well presented hotel, with restaurant adjacent. [Advisable to book] as very popular away from the town setting. Rooms were clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. We only stayed one night (and had to leave before breakfast!) but we enjoyed the hotel. The rooms are really nicely decorated, clean and a good size (not huge, but not postage-stamp sized like some of the others we stayed in on our drive from Paris to Nice). After a long car journey from Provence via Lyon and the interminable auto route toll queues, pulling into Grillon was heavenly. We recently spent 3 nights in Beaune at the Hotel Grillon. Can't speak more highly of our stay there (and it was the cheapest of our 3 week visit to Italy and France at 105E/night)! We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Grillon. The room had been recently refurbished and was quiet, comfortable and clean. We didn't 'hang out' at the hotel so we can't comment on quality of breakfast, dinner etc. Free parking was a bonus. We stayed for just two nights on a touring holiday. To look at the hotel is none too inspiring but inside all is very pleasant and clean. We stayed only one night. We had read other Tripadvisor reviews. The hotel was a good 900 metres walk out of town, but there was a free parking area for cars halfway into town which was right near a main supermarket. This supermarket has the scan your self checkout and put your own money in. Quite different but no hassle.... more
