I had to cancel my stay at this hotel at short notice, when the travel disruption at Calais put at risk an unexpected hospital appointment. As a result, I was able to give only 24 hours notice rather than 48 as the hotel required. I told them what had happened in the hope they they would not enforce their refund... More

We made a reservation at the Abbaye based on a recommendation from the tourist information office. Wow. I could not have possibly imagined how incredible this place would be. Betty checked us in and proceeded to insist on carrying our heavy bags up the narrow stairs (Don't even try to stop her!!!!). The room was gorgeous, quiet and comfortable. If... More

we chose this hotel as it was in the wine region we had planned to visit whilst travelling into the French Alpes for a family Christmas. When we arrived at the hotel,It was a little confusing trying to find the entrance, but once we did, we walked in to a magical place! Our room was at the top floor which... More

Historically astonishing architecture! When you walk into he place it functions as Lobby and Restaurant. You are being transferred back into ancient history. But this is what you can expect all, when you are being brought up to your room, you walk 4 floors steep steps, I still wonder how they been able to bring our luggage up there. The... More

We had a great stay at the Abbaye. Upon arriving early they allowed us to keep our bags by the desk so we could explore the city of Beaune. Upon check in the man at the front desk took both of our heavy bags up the stairs to our room. He insisted even though I stated I would help. The... More

I recently stayed at the Abbaye de Maizieres for our three-day stay in Beaune. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, historic and a fun place to stay. The only downside (and unfortunately it would be enough of a downside to cause me to not return) would be the stairs to get up to your room. My father, who has arthritis and... More

I don't think I can say enough about Abbaye de Maizieres. It exceeded my expectations. We thought it would be "quaint" staying in an old abbey. This place was wonderful and luxurious. The restaurant was off-the-charts. It was one of the top meals I have ever eaten and the wine was the best I ever had (Beaune Premier Crus 2011).... More

It really is an old abbey, located down a narrow cobblestone street. Finding the front door is tricky: It looks like a big stained-glass window, but actually opens to the steps which lead down to the reception area--and is also the location of the restaurant, which only has a few tables. (Be sure to make a reservation for the EXCELLENT... More

The room was lovely, our bed was very soft, not good for my husband who had a back operation. Bathroom and everything else were outstanding. The stuff as well. We love the town, its very very cozy. Will definitely go back.

This hotel actually is a 12th century building, but Not an abbey. It is a building put up in Beaune by a monastery outside Beaune so that it could claim its wine was from Beaune by being cellared there The hotel has very few rooms (I forget how many) that were for people like the abbot and the prior. They... More
