I recently stayed at the Abbaye de Maizieres for our three-day stay in Beaune. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, historic and a fun place to stay. The only downside (and unfortunately it would be enough of a downside to cause me to not return) would be the stairs to get up to your room. My father, who has arthritis and... More

I don't think I can say enough about Abbaye de Maizieres. It exceeded my expectations. We thought it would be "quaint" staying in an old abbey. This place was wonderful and luxurious. The restaurant was off-the-charts. It was one of the top meals I have ever eaten and the wine was the best I ever had (Beaune Premier Crus 2011).... More

It really is an old abbey, located down a narrow cobblestone street. Finding the front door is tricky: It looks like a big stained-glass window, but actually opens to the steps which lead down to the reception area--and is also the location of the restaurant, which only has a few tables. (Be sure to make a reservation for the EXCELLENT... More

The room was lovely, our bed was very soft, not good for my husband who had a back operation. Bathroom and everything else were outstanding. The stuff as well. We love the town, its very very cozy. Will definitely go back.

This hotel actually is a 12th century building, but Not an abbey. It is a building put up in Beaune by a monastery outside Beaune so that it could claim its wine was from Beaune by being cellared there The hotel has very few rooms (I forget how many) that were for people like the abbot and the prior. They... More

My wife and I stayed two nights in this beautiful hotel located in a former abbey in Beaune. The room was generous size with a comfortable bed and large well appointed bathroom. The breakfast was simple, but delicious. Fresh bread and pastries, fruit salad and fresh squeezed fruit juices highlight the menu. You also get eggs made any style served... More

This hotel is in a very good location. If you have ANY and I mean ANY problems with mobility choose somewhere else as the steps up,to the rooms are so steep. This is a very historic building dating back to the 12th century. The rooms are nice and we had a very nice bathroom with a proper walkin showed wet... More

Stunning building (12th century), carefully renovated, incredible ambiente, cute and tastefully furnished rooms. The staff is extremly friendly and helpful. Don't miss the fine dining in the fantastic cellar restaurant! The food is outstanding, the portions rather small. Thankfully they didn't mess up the historic building with a lift. The steps up to your room will do you good after... More

This hotel certainly lived up to its pictures and reputation! We stayed here for one night on our Honeymoon as we were passing through Burgundy. The atmosphere here is like nothing we've experienced and I'm not sure it's replicated in many other places. How could you not love staying in a 12th century Abbaye? Bruno was kind and helpful. The... More
