Where do I begin? How about the parking that is 4 blocks away? What about the shag carpet that smells like it has never been washed? What about the flood? Oh yes, it has got to be the flood. After walking 10 minutes from the public parking, we were put into a room the size of a matchbox. The shag... More

On most occasions, accommodation unfolds without complication. When issues arise, the response can determine the mood of a holiday. To ensure air-conditioning for a late July summer holiday, rooms were reserved at The Anathor 5 months earlier. The air-conditioning was found broken late in the afternoon, this was known to the staff. I was not informed of this upon arrival... More

We stayed in Beaune for 2 nights. The hotel is easy to get to from the train station - perhaps a 5 min. walk. The room had a great atmosphere and charm. Our room was basic - twin beds with a private bath and AC. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked - sometimes not always the case. The... More

Like most respondents, I was nervous about staying here due to the negative comments but it fit the budget and the location was great - our group had a total of three rooms booked (one queen, one king, and one triple). We booked a comfort room (queen) which is exactly what it was. The bathroom was large and fairly new... More

Hotel Athanol is ageing rapidly judging by reviews. Without style of Fawlty Towers the hotel is part of a passing age. It seems not to be earning enough to support basic maintenance appropriate for the price charged The room aircon was broken so I requested they might consider a reduced price. This request was met with a hollow laugh, To... More

Like a previous respondent, I was a little fearful of what we would find but was pleasantly surprised. Having asked for a room away from the noise of the street, we were given one towards the rear, which was perfectly quiet. The room itself was large enough and had a very comfortable bed. The staff were charming & helpful. Where... More

I wasn't really looking forward to staying here because of some of the negative comments , but had a very pleasant experience. The location is great-near all there is to see in Beaune. My room was very comfortable, and quiet. The bathroom was nice and clean, plenty of hot water, too. The breakfast room was beautiful and the breakfast was... More

Beaune was the highlight of our visit to France and Hotel Athanor was a perfect place from which to enjoy it. Everything was just a short walk away (don't miss the Marche Aux Vins tasting experience!). Our triple room was actually a suite with two nice sized rooms, one with a bed and full bath, the other with a fold-out... More

The location is central close to the township within the ring-road. The rooms are small but cosy. Most of the time is spent out exploring Beaune which is close by, so it is a perfect spot to walk from. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
