We had booked a hotel for our weekend in Beaune which turned out to be not great... And so cancelled our second night and found this gem! We booked through booking.com for that very evening, when we arrived we were told that we had been upgraded. Our room was perfect and the location of the hotel is just fantastic. The... More

Beaune is expensive for hotels, so as this is one of the cheaper options my expectations were not huge. The room was big enough, but the carpet could have been cleaner, there was no aircon which was an issue at this time of year, no safe was irritating, and the breakfast was average. The staff were lovely though, and the... More

This is the 4th hotel we've used in Beaune and, I would say, the worst which is disappointing given it was also the 2nd most expensive! I can't see how this hotel is worth the money. I booked via trivago and had filtered for car parking. The hotel doesn't have any. You either have to park in the street or... More

Hotel Athanor is simple, clean and in an excellent location in the center of Beaune. There is a parking lot just down the street. The hotel isn't particularly fancy or luxurious but if you are looking for a simple, clean place to stay then I would recommend it. Also, the rates are quite reasonable if you book in advance. The... The staff was very nice and the hotel is quaint with character. We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Athanor. We especially loved the location, surrounded by the old town and many shops and restaurants.

We have stayed at this charming hotel, in the center of Beaune, 7 times. We love it. The rooms are great, the breakfast is all we need and the staff is super friendly. Step out of the door and you are close to everything in Beaune (of course not so difficult in a tiny town like Beaune), but we will... More

I recently was passing through Beaune on my return to the UK from the South of France. I stayed at Hotel Athanor. I found the central location a great base to explore the charming town. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and charming. It was great value for money. I would definitely stay there the next time... More

This is a very basic hotel so those expecting and wanting more should look elsewhere. While we were allocated large rooms (20 and 21), there is no elevator and with two "bad backs" in our entourage, it was a hard slog up and down two floors via a winding staircase. These rooms also have mezzanine-level bathrooms so again, challenging for... More

We had a perfectly fine two night stay at Hotel Athanor. Yes it is an old building with some quirky rooms. Elevator is available but not for all rooms. Just do your research. Our room was clean and adequate. The location is excellent, breakfast was fine, staff was helpful as needed. It is quite a walk from the train station... More

We arrived not having booked something and stumbled across the hotel and was pleasantly surprised ..We had a car and did not mind the Car Park was down the street because we walked everywhere in the old city as the hotel was in a great location. We had to go through the Breakfast room to get to our rooms but... More
