Very quaint chateau, warm approachable staff, and a renovation that maintains the character while making the stay feel more modern. The host graciously set up a dinner reservation for us, and the pool was refreshing. I only wish our room, albeit an entry-level one, was a little bigger. There was barely room to maneuver around the bed and lay out... More

Just below Dijon you'll find this chateau in the midst of a small forest next to the péage. But the péage is far away when you are here, it is unnoticeable. Heated pool (already in May) and serene environment. 10 Minutes away from Beaune, the Capital of the Great White Wines filled with great restaurants, shops, boutiques, arts, bars and... More

Quite in need of general update in limited threadbare reception room furniture and our room on 2 nd floor walk up via spiral staircase which is much in need of safer, newer carpet. Wood burning fireplace smoke ascends nightly into room up staircase. Although we pointed out our concern, it continued. Room dark and without view. Breakfast most expensive so... More

Booked this place at the last minute, The lady who was working is extremely charming indeed. She booked a restaurant down the road which was great value for money. She also helped me plan our day in Beaune and the surrounding areas, including a free pass for wine tasting at Chateau Pommard. The girl at breakfast is also very sweet... More

Like the country manor house you might dream about seeing in France, Chateau de Challanges is charming and elegant with lovely landscaping. We spent 2 nights here as our base to explore the famous wine routes and villages/towns of Burgundy. We loved the picturesque town of Beaune with its plethora of excellent dining and wine tasting options, and happily it... More

my first time in Beaune and I was very impressed with the friendliness of people in general. as a collector of wine in south Africa I found myself in a lovely wine district in france and thoroughly enjoyed the people, food and wine. the chatteau was how I have always imagined French architecture and is truly beautiful. hire a car... Excellent, efficient service from all staff members that dealt with us. Our room decor was really not to our liking; we do understand these are matters of personal preference and these are strong words perhaps but we found our room really garishly decorated. The mini bar didn't work but staff made up with efficient delivery of an ice bucket. The... More

This Chateau is in a small village 3k from the centre of Beaune. There is nothing special about the village, that is, until you turn the corner and there it is, lovely. Plenty of free parking, great welcome from reception, full explanation of the facilities including the pool at 26c . and our luggage taken to our delightful room. Dinner is... More

This beautiful hotel is a must see in the Burgundy region of France. It is an old château that is charming and the staff very helpful. My only complaint was that we stayed in a yurt-style room that didn't seem to have much insulation. The neighbors were VERY loud from 5 am on... as though they were doing aerobics! It... More

We have stayed for two nights while wine tasting in the area. The hotel has a fabulous presence, the house itself and the grounds. All staff were excellent- very friendly, helpful and trained according to the hotel's 4*. However our garden room, despite its direct access to the swimming pool area, was more like 2*. It smelled of mould and... More
