The hotel was adequate for a short, overnight stay but was uninspiring in decor and facilities. Room was clean and comfortable. A general absence of service.

Lovely building - with rooms suitable for families with 2 kids :-) Secure car park and easy walk to local restaurants - we always use the Pizza de la Tour!

Our stay in Avallon started out a bit inauspiciously - bad weather, not the nicest ride into town, and some early plumbing problems at Vauban - but was all uphill from there. I enjoyed a stay at the Hotel D’Avallon Vauban from March 27th to March 30th, 2008. The hotel worked as a great base for exploring Avallon and the surrounding countryside. The walk to the clock tower and Lazare church in Avallon took about 15 minutes. The drive to Vezleay was about 15 minutes and to Semur-en-Auxois was about 30 minutes.... More
