My father visited the restaurant while on a business trip to Auxerre. He informed me that the six course meal he had was amazing also he got a chance to try a different wine with each course. He informed me that he had a very enjoyable night. He informed me that the chef was very informative about each course they... More

We first visited thirty years ago and have revisited several times in recent years. The surroundings are beautiful and tranquil. The patron is welcoming and speaks very good English (I believe he speaks even better German). There is a terrace across the road on the bank of the Yonne where meals are served in the summer and even during our... More

This restaurant is situated in a lovely spot beside the Yonne. We were a group of four Australians travelling by barge through this region and thought it would be a lovely place for dinner. After being seated and given menus we were not acknowledged for almost half an hour until Alain came over. He does "guide" you towards his specials... More

We were very lucky to have wonderful sunny weather for lunch on the terrace over looking the river Yonne in early April. We were wary of eating here, having read a few reviews, but we had a wonderful lunch. The restaurant owner was congenial, helpful but not over bearing, he speaks very good English so was able to translate some... More

We booked this place with mixed feelings especially after reading the reviews. The Auberge is comfortable. What we most liked, the Food and the personalized service of the Chef/Proprietor. We were Four friends travelling in France. All of us loved the place. The Chef came to us personally to explain everything. This place was our last place after having Gourmet... More

This restaurant owner is the biggest disgrace to cooking I have met. He tries to be charming but before the evening is out you will see that what you have been through is a very mediocre experience for a very high price. Staff were scared most of the time. Food was ordinary. Statements of home made, home smoked hams etc... More

The fixed price lunch menu was very traditional and well-executed. Portions are very large for the french standard. The place is a bit old-fashioned but welcoming. For less than 50€ per person, you get appetizers, tasty dishes and two generous glasses of great burgundies. Good value.

Overpriced horrible food served by a pompos dishonest owner/chef! The "chef" consistently lied to our party telling us items were not available or only served for two then the dish would miraculously show up at the next table. He bullied people into get getting his specials like Guinea "fool", berry soup, or flan that where beyond pathetic. I was served... More

Snobby place with rubbish food at a price you will not believe. Do not go there unless you have remortgaged your house and want to waste all the money and you don't mind a pontificating chief telling you how wonderful he is (not) and have the waitress empty the crumbs from your bread plate in your lap !

Other reviews have already said it all in both English and French: obligation to buy overpriced bottled water, mediocre cuisine, odious chef/owner, way overpriced. I'll add that we were sickened to see how the waiters and apprentices were treated. The last straw was when customers had to line up like school children in front of the owner to pay the... More
