Just outside the walls, it's an enjoyable walk to the city sights, restaurants and bars. Ample parking and I felt sure my car and contents were safe. The staff were welcoming and helpful advising where to eat. Room and beds comfortable. The garden is neat and spacious - we enjoyed breakfast (good selection) and an aperitif al fresco.

I traveled from Bergerac to Auxerre by car, on the way I saw the temperature steadily rising to 40 degrees C, after a stop in Vezelay to admire the cathedral, so I was slightly over heated. The room temperature was a blessing, but for the night I did turn the airco off. The room was quite small , but adequate,... More

It reminds me a lot of Fawlty Towers - in the positive means!! It is old but fantastic. Clean and nice. Very serviceminded personel. A bit small rooms but still very nice with free wifi and aircon. A small pool and it could have been nice with a few more sun beds in the garden. We would for sure recommend... More

Just outside the old city of Auxerre, in a lovely gardened setting, the Hotel des Marechaux is somewhat old fashioned but provides a tranquil setting for a visit to this lovely old city. Somewhat surprised that a 4 star hotel does not have more of a restaurant, although the breakfasts are fine, but only a very limited 24 hour snack... More

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were super friendly and efficient. The room was great and they welcomed us and our dog superbly. The reception staff also gave good recommendations on restaurants etc ... The BIG PROBLEM for me was that their 'free wifi' service DOES NOT WORK with Apple products - so NO WIFI for the iPad nor... 121 euros per night expensive mini bar an extra 13 euros for a poor cold breakfast what more can I say .avoid there are better hotels in Auxerre with a lower star rating .this hotel is never a 4 star hotel maybe a 3 star at best.

We stayed here on our way to Dijon from CDG airport. We stayed in Jourdan which is on the first floor and in the back of the hotel so it was very quiet. It looks over the garden. Room had a firm double bed, great hot water w/good pressure (always good after a long plane ride) and a standup showerhead,... More

Beautiful building and it has its own car park. The gardens and terrace are just delightful with comfortable faux rattan sofas and chairs.......a little oasis of calm with an outdoor swimming pool a discreet distance away down some steps. Pleasant reception with irritating automatic doors so as you stand to choose attraction leaflets they just keep opening and closing. Booked... More

When I booked this hotel via their website they took the money immediately (six months ago) but no Email confirmation and nothing on the website. So the only evidence I had of my booking was my credit card statement. The hotel is a strange mixture of old fashioned yet newly renovated. Dingy blue everywhere. Then on checkout, they charged an... This hotel is run by a staff that loves to show real hospitality. A very warm and comforting reception, a beautiful garden with a nice swimming pool, near to the charming town of Auxerre. The room was rather small but adequate. Many compliments, we enjoyed our stay here very much!
