We booked the family room which fits 3 comfortably. It is a queen in a large room en-suite with a twin in an adjoining room. You could easily fit two air mattresses if the property allowed, which I don't think it does. The rooms were comfortable. Estee and her family were lovely. The breakfast good (with fabulous fresh squeezed orange... More

We stayed for 2 nights in August. Had the family room on the main floor. Pros: lovely location, fabulous sitting room, nice patio, good breakfast, nice bar. Cons: the room had no air ventilation, no vents in the bathroom either, beds were very uncomfortable, can hear water running from all the surrounding rooms and doors closing. We were told we... More

We arrived gone midnight and were greeted with kindness and a smile. Our room was very clean and spacious. as was the bathroom. Unfortunately the next morning we were woken by the loud sound of doors slamming shut along our corridor which was repeated every morning. Every day the room was beautifully refreshed. We found a small patisserie nearby for... More

we booked this based on reviews. If you want an old fashioned seaside-style hotel that was refurbished 30 years ago and has uncomfortable beds then this is for you. I don't understand how it can be a 4 star or charge over 200 euros per night. I also don't understand how it can offer sea view rooms when it is... More

The front of this gorgeous hotel looks like most of the other waterfront buildings here, in gingerbread colours, with contrasting stonework and a Mansard roof - our idea of a grand French manor. St Malo is a well-to-do town, and its wealth may have originated from its corsairs (the fancy French word for pirates) who intercepted merchant ships. Its best-known... More

Scroll to be bottom for our only big disappointment with this hotel . . . and for a fabulous food recommendation very nearby. This unique hotel was created by joining two large town houses with a contemporary reception and bar area. The interiors of the grand manors have been completely renovated and brought up to the four star standard as... More

Small charming hotel! We did't know it, but we discovered this hotel has the best location in Saint-Malo (along with Ar-Iniz Hotel). It is set in quiet charming residential area, just a few steps from the beach. The rooms are very classic with all the comfort you would expect from a 4 star. Everything is like new and well mantained.... More

This was our third pre day-ferry overnight stop. And we now know it's worth paying to upgrade to a larger "garden room". The hotel parking is limited, and now is charged at 15euros per night. However, except during peak season at weekends, on-street parking is generally available nearby. After a long car journey the mile-long walk along the promenade to... More

This is a real little St Malo gem. A small, friendly hotel which is very comfortable, well cared for and the staff could not have been more helpful. Room was good size and tastefully decorated. There was a lift. Although you can park in the small yard for a fee there is plenty of on street parking for free in... More

After our first fantastic visit two years ago, we decided to return to Saint Malo to experience 'la Villefromoy' again. As per our previous visit, our room was located in the annexe as opposed to the main original building. It is evident the all rooms in the hotel have undergone major refurbishments since our last visit; they now feature new... More
