Located inside the walls of the old town (intra muros) the Anne de Bretagne consists of two buildings located across from one another. We were across the street from the reception in what seemed to be the annexe; a very dark series of stairs leading to 4 floors of bedrooms. Our room was on the 3rd floor up dark stairways... More

We chose this hotel for its very central location, just inside the walls of Intra Muros. Its not too bad to get into by car,but you need to find it first time or beware! We parked outside whilst checking in,and the receptionist was very pleasant. When we asked about parking, they offered their garage opposite the front door for 15 euroes for... More

Basic. Very, very basic. Cheap, so you get what you pay for. Clean enough, but no pictures on walls, no tea/coffee making facilities in room. No mirror either (except in bathroom) - tricky for drying hair with hair dryer (not provided, take your own). Shower head had to be propped over attachment to stay upright.noisy at night if you need... More

We could have had a party in our bathroom ! It was lovely with bath and shower. We stayed for 4 nights in July, the room was huge with a double and a single bed. We didn't have any meals at the hotel as we went out to eat so cannot comment on that. Altogether a very pleasant stay right... More

My son & I cycled from Ouistreham (Caen) to St. Malo and wanted somewhere to stay overnight before getting the ferry back to Portsmouth the next morning. We settled on Ann De Bretagne as it was close to the port, inside the walls, and was the cheapest on offer for a twin room at €90 including breakfast. The room was... More

I have stayed here for Tour de France in July and overnight before catching ferry to UK. The Intramuros is superb so it is natural to want to stay 'within the walls'. The hotel is basic but passable, and on both occasions the cheapest available. Reception area is nice and free WiFi always welcome. Rooms are shabby but cleanish (broken... More

We spent two nights here as we wanted to stay with in the Walls of St Malo. The location itself is perfect, and the hotel loby is quite nice, but as per one of the other another review, when greeted at reception it wasn't welcoming at all. A second male staff member came over and helped attend to our needs,... More

It was clean and convenient for the centre of the walled city of St Malo. Unfortunately the welcome we received put us off. We could speak a little French, but this seemed an insult to the receptionist. He could speak English but wasn't going to because that would have been helpful. Poor attitude to us as customers. Almost 'Fawlty-esque' in... More

If you think you'll get a nights sleep here, forget it, great location for drinking yourself into a coma because that's the only way you'll get any sleep. Better off out of the walled city completely if you can, better still go to Dinard.

This hotel was the worst place we stayed during our 2 month holiday which included 6 days in Brittany. Hot noisy dirty peeling paint. Just the pits.We got caught up in the tour de france. The police had closed the roads leading into St Malo and we couldn't get through until 10pm at night. Not enough information from the hotel... More
