I read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor after I had booked the Escale Oceania and was not expecting much to be honest but was pleasantly surprised! The rooms are much brighter and larger than in the photos posted and we found it to be a very clean, friendly run hotel, the staff couldn't have been nicer! Also on... more
very very poor!!! they tried to charge us for a sea view room when we did not request it, they tried to charge us for 2 breakfasts when we only had 1 and had to complain about that because only half of it was there! drinks were put on our bill that were already paid for in cash and we... more
The hotel is on the St. Malo seafront, opposite a wonderful sandy beach (at low tide). It's about 5 minutes walk fro the old walled city. We chose this hotel because of it's position and because it had secure parking, which is a rarity in St Malo town centre. We knew that it was more expensive than our usual French... more
Clean and bright little hotel close to the old walled city of St Malo, and overlooking a great beach with majestic high and low tides. Room was small and modern with red and black decor and a nice view of the beach (make sure you get a high floor for this), good sized bathroom with an excellent large walk-in shower... more
We had booked car park, costing more than 10 GBP, but we had to leave the car in the street, on unauthorised parking, and wait a rather long time for reception staff to do a full check-in before getting access. We booked rooms with sea view 4 months before the trip but were given rooms without view when we arrived,... more
Stayed here in July just gone. It is right on the beach, 10 minute walk from the walled city. We had a sea view room which was worth the extra as it really is a great view. Rooms were small but quite nice, look like they have been recently renovated. If you go to St Malo i wouldn't bother staying... more
Very clean. New. Close to walled town. Very quiet in rooms. Good breakfasts. Helpful staff. Very easy and polite check -in. Opposite a great beach. Suitable for holiday at any time of the year. I was with my daughter, daughter-in-law ( in 20s) and 85 year old mother, and we all found the hotel suitable, and perhaps even better than... more
Stayed for two nights at the Escale Oceania during a longer stay in Brittany and Normandy. Our room was new, clean and functional, but very small and the slamming doors and thin walls ensures I would not stay there again. To be fair, we did not spend anytime in the hotel except at night, and the price was not bad... more
The hotel location is perfect, being directly opposite the sea and only a short 10 minute beach side promenade walk to old town St Malo. Our room, being a family room (# 505), was ideal for us as we were a party of 2 adults & 2 young adults (16 & 17). The room was very clean and modern, which... more
