We visited the Hotel L'Ascott last year, and rated it excellent but with a couple of flaws. Second time around, it's even better. We stayed again this year for two nights between a vintage car rally and returning to UK. We treated ourselves to a suite. All our criticisms have been fixed. Although our room was small it was well equipped, the bathroom in particular was really nice. There are larger rooms and next time we'd chose one of these.
