We expected a comfortable and luxurious place as it has a five stars rating and we paid a five star price for a room for 3 nights. At arrival the first impression was a hotel lobby which was very basic and cold. The room even worse, it seemed more a motel room with cheap furniture than a five star hotel... More

Completely underwhelmed! Staying with my family for 3 days and whilst the location and some of the dining areas are really beautiful, the rooms are small and in dire need of a facelift. Felt like I was in a retirement home....in all respects. For this price I expected more!

We were negatively surprised by several rules if you are staying at the hotel. If you are not on a "demi pension" package don t expect to get a table in front of the sea at the cap horm gastronomic restaurant even if you have booked a room for one week... Another example of discrimination is the rules applied by... More

Dear Madam, dear Sir, We are sorry you could not have one of the tables that are next to the window at the Cap Horn restaurant. These tables may have been booked by clients weeks in advance, but all tables of our gastronomic restaurant have sea view. The cloak room is accessible to the local clients you cannot benefit of... Walked in without a reservation after being let down and even though we looked terrible we were treated like royalty. We were given an excellent price for a room for four and helped whenever we asked. Really a Grand hotel in every respect.

Rooms were very very small. Air conditioning was sparse and inefficient. convoluted and confusing hallways. excellent swimming pool. great location. very nice restaurant. French food is good all over France...and here too it was good. We wont be returning until some renovations are done.

Our booking was for 3 people but we only had 2 sets of ammenities. I requested to bring an extra set but it never arrived during our 3 days stay. The elevator was brokend and I was informed that it would be fixed next day on arrival. But again, it wasn't fixed druing our stay. Access from the reception to... More

A wonderfully unexpected gem when traveling between Guernsey and Paris, we stopped for a night at this hotel. Upgraded our room for a charge and had the best time. Slept with the balcony doors open, enjoyed the view and breeze all night. Seemed a little full with older folks in robes, but we decided it was a charming location frequented... More

Having spent a month in Paris we were prone to taking little day trips. This particular day we went out to Mont Saint Michel then the next night over to St Malo. Being American and only speaking a little French we have experienced gruff service occasionally but by and large, everyone was wonderful. In this hotel it seems as though... More

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for three nights in July and very much enjoyed our stay. We particularly liked the location just out of the centre of St Malo and right on the sea front. It was a very nice walk along the promenade into the centre of the old town. Rooms with a sea view were very expensive... More

We stayed here as part of a group tour. The rooms are so small there is almost no space to open your suitcase without tripping over it. Our air conditioner was leaking and left a large puddle on our floor, and did not discover this until it was 11 pm, too late to change rooms. This meant we had to... More
