My husband and I just returned from 6 nights in St. Malo. He was attending a solar wind confernce and I was on vacation. Our stay at the Hotel Elizabeth within the walled city of St. Malo was wonderful. The hotel is in a great location. The hotel owner is extremely friendly and helpful, providng wonderful suggestions for restaurants. His... more

What a treasure! Very comfortable and so old world. The view from our window of St. Malo was classic Medieval Europe and so was the hotel (oldest building in the walled city). All very old except for the comfortable, remodeled room. We were traveling without exact plans in a rented car and the staff spoke perfect english, greatly helped our... more

This hotel is a great treat. It is perfectly located and offers a great deal for the money. The proprietor seems to work 7 days a week and knows the local scene very well. He truly wants you to have a great time in a great little town. more

We arrived in St.Malo late and tired and in need of accomodation. A lovely restaurant owner organized this for us and although the room was small and nothing special it was clean and the man on night duty was lovely and helpful. The location in the old town is charming and seems great for sightseeing, with many restaurants and things... more

We (2 rooms, party of 4) stayed here for one night on a short break from the UK. We chose this hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. I sent an e-mail enquiry (in English) to check availability, and got a detailed response 13 minutes later. We arrived in St Malo early on Saturday morning, and found ourselves close to... more

My husband and I have just had one night here. Jean-Nicholas the owner was the most helpful person I have ever met in a hotel reception. We stayed in the annex which is just a few yards from the hotel. The weather had turned a bit chilly but he made sure the heating was turned up. It was spotless with... more

We were impressed by the website but the webiste is the best part of it. in reality it is a very small hotel; rooms are very small and minimalistic (nothing historic there or efficient) and so is the lobby. It is overatted. The service is mediocre as it is a family old style kind of accomodation. They are also strict... more

The Elizabeth is in the most colorful part of St. Malo (attached is a photograph of the view from our room), in a historic building. The rooms typically small and odd-shaped, and the elevator tiny. The effect is charming, and the hotel is clean, quiet, and secure. The owners, Jean-Nicolas and Isabelle, are on the premises from breakfast (Jean-Nicolas makes... more

When my wife and I arrived at St. Malo and Hotel Elizabeth our original plan was to stay 1 night. The hotel was so inviting, charming, and the service provided by Jean-Nicholas was so personal we almost immediately booked a second night throwing our trip schedule to the wind. I would like to think I am a fairly independent traveller.... more
