Small scale, super romantic hotel: a chateau that hardly 'feels' as a hotel: you more feel like guests of the noble family. Some minor points (no airco, only a bath tub without shower and very slow wifi) don't outweigh the royal feeling of this place. Conveniently close to Saint Malo (10 min drive). Great garden (park). Very good breakfast buffet... More

If you want to avoid the huge crowds of St Malo and experience an authentic and romantic small Castle this is the place. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Beautiful bathrooms recently renovated. Gorgeous view overlooking the grounds, small lake and paddocks beyond. Extremely peaceful in the middle of the countryside yet close to the city. You will feel... More

We had mapped out directions before leaving home and found ths hotel with minimal problems although it is a bit tricky. We did have gps but used our trusty map. We checked in at 1:30 and there was no problem. Our rooms(with friends) were on the 2nd floor and were spacious and lovely. Our friends had the blue room with... More

We used this hotel as a stop over before getting the ferry back to UK, and it was perfect for that - 15 minutes drive to the terminal. The hotel would be hard to find without satnav or a very good map. We had a standard room, which was very comfortable and quiet. The bath had a shower attachment but... More

If this is your first visit to St. Malo, then stay in the old Walled City or as close to it as your budget allows. But if you're a regular one nighter off the ferries, then try this for a change. Don't expect 5 star luxury, but it is a lovely building in a secluded countryside setting with friendly and... More

Great accomodation in a Château! No need to stay in St Malo for visiting; plus, gives you more flexibility for visiting other places of great inteterest like St Michel, Dinan and Cancale Warm and helpful staff, including the owner, who provided very good recommendations for restaurants in the area Will surely return An area of improvement would be the restaurant.... Hotel with a nice exterior, but the inside is not so fantastic. The rooms, corridors and dining room need a major refurbishing. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast should be improved. Cost of taxi to town was 20 EURO.

The service at Colombier was very good. We really enjoyed our stay and had such a beautiful immaculate suite. The bathroom was gorgeous and so was the room and the decor very traditional. We enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast in the breakfast room and lovely view out of our windows was nice to wake up to. Lovely gardens and everything... More

Myself and two friends visiting from Australia chose the Chateau Colombier for two nights over a cold weekend in March. We chhose this as we wanted something a little more interesting that the chain hotels that abound in this part of the world and the previous reviews on TA were strong. We were not disappointed. The chateau is close to... More

Very big room, the furniture in the room was nice, but not amazing for a castle! Very nice bathroom also! This castle has an elevator, that was amazing! Overall the decoration is very well done, the castle is in a good condition, with a nice golf course in front. As a matter of fact we did not spend a lot... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nested in a 6 hectare park, 5 minutes by car of the nice beaches of Saint Malo, le Chateau Hotel du Colombier invites you to travel in time. This pleasure residence, constructed by Malouin, owner of a shipping company in 1715, kept its bygone beauty: its woodworks of oak & its nice central staircase, its pictures of the 18th century, rose garden, chapel & pond.
