Once you find this place - and that is a challenge - it is wonderful. Very quirky, characterful and run by the most delightful team you could imagine. Always smiling, always helpful - it was a pleasure to spend two nights under their roof. The chateau is showing signs of its age (apart from a very modern lift) but you... More

My boyfriend and I spent two nights in this hotel. We were booked into the blue room on the second floor (which is beautifully furnished). It has a feature stand alone, claw footed bath which was a beauty but sadly all the piping was old and cracked so the bath emptied onto the floor .We rang down to reception but... More

A short 10 minute ride to intra-muros St. Malo - An estate that made you feel you were arriving in the 18th century. Beautiful grounds with character - just what we were looking for a few days and not the typical hotels! A good point of stay to drive to other nearby towns. Arrived with my family - senior citizens... More

I researched this very lovely B&B before we came away and noted the negative comments from other guests. We've had a tough year & just wanted peace & quiet and felt that this chateau in the middle of nowhere in a tiny hamlet fitted the bill. As you come down the drive it looks exquisite, any estate agent would salivate... More

The building is lovely, from the outside. However, the rest leaves much to be desired. One wonders how it rates four stars. The room was adequate, but the bathroom very poorly appointed. The idea of leaving everything looking "period" meant that it was in fact "old and worn". No services were available, with the only member of staff being a... More

Small scale, super romantic hotel: a chateau that hardly 'feels' as a hotel: you more feel like guests of the noble family. Some minor points (no airco, only a bath tub without shower and very slow wifi) don't outweigh the royal feeling of this place. Conveniently close to Saint Malo (10 min drive). Great garden (park). Very good breakfast buffet... More

If you want to avoid the huge crowds of St Malo and experience an authentic and romantic small Castle this is the place. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Beautiful bathrooms recently renovated. Gorgeous view overlooking the grounds, small lake and paddocks beyond. Extremely peaceful in the middle of the countryside yet close to the city. You will feel... More

We had mapped out directions before leaving home and found ths hotel with minimal problems although it is a bit tricky. We did have gps but used our trusty map. We checked in at 1:30 and there was no problem. Our rooms(with friends) were on the 2nd floor and were spacious and lovely. Our friends had the blue room with... More

We used this hotel as a stop over before getting the ferry back to UK, and it was perfect for that - 15 minutes drive to the terminal. The hotel would be hard to find without satnav or a very good map. We had a standard room, which was very comfortable and quiet. The bath had a shower attachment but... More

If this is your first visit to St. Malo, then stay in the old Walled City or as close to it as your budget allows. But if you're a regular one nighter off the ferries, then try this for a change. Don't expect 5 star luxury, but it is a lovely building in a secluded countryside setting with friendly and... More
