Sitting in Winchester having lunch, the weather collapsed as it often does at the end of the English "Summer". One of the party said "It's 30 degrees in Rennes, we can get a flight from Southampton for £22 and it's 50 minutes away, Lets go and have a seafood spectacular dinner by the river in shirtsleeves." We turned up at... More

Stayed a couple of nights. Reception seems to be always open. Lobby looks nice, quick elevator, rooms are clean and modern. Staff was very helpful. We are travelling with a handicapped person and they gave her a spacious room. Our room is a lot smaller but quiet. This hotel is easy accessable for wheelchairs (there is a pull out ramp... More

Pros: Close to subway station, very cheap (EUR53) have breakfast Cons: The door of my room didn't close properly, the smallest elevator that i saw, very very small room. For who need a place to drop your luggage take a shower and sleep it's ok, but if you need to spend some time on the hotel don't take it

We stayed one night here in October, but unfortunayely it was at the time they were expanding and renovating the hotel. There was a crane outside the front door heaving concrete to the workmen on the upper floors. There was dust and dirt everywhere and workmen started early and went right through a long day. It was as noisy as... More

This hotel is in a very good position and very well priced. The rooms are fairly nondescript but very clean. The bed was large but hard and uncomfortable. We ended up putting some extra quilts we found in the wardrobe on the bed to make it more comfortable. Breakfast is very good for the price. We found parking very easily... More

I like this hotel, the reception staff were super friendly and were very gracious about listening to my dodgy french before speaking to me in fluent english. I had a larger room on the fourth floor with nice french windows. As others have mentioned, some of the furniture is getting a bit tatty, but on the whole it's clean and... More

Booked this hotel on Hotels.com. Lovely welcome on arrival with easy/quick check-in process. Room was clean, well appointed and also basic toiletries (shower gel, shampoo) which for 2* is really good. We stayed two nights and the room and en-suite were cleaned very well both days with fresh towels. Bed and pillows comfy. It is an old building - like... More

As some of the photos posted have indicated, the hotel is great, with excellent staff, pretty compact rooms, brilliant breakfast, BUT... there are some areas where the lack of attention over the last years is showing. There are a lot of dents, chips, scratches, etc, that kind of tell you that someone is not paying attention quite enough. I would... More

In the centre of town, so everything within walking distance. Great food nearby, good shops and the market is 1 min away. My only gripe would be the coffee in the morning - not good, not good at all. Probably the bitterest coffee I have tried! However, the rest of the breakfast was fine - standard French fayre. It has... More
