Hidden down side streets, uninspiring from the street if I am honest but a gem. Staff just cannot seem to do enough to make your stay welcome. Funky but very comfortable rooms. And room service, the chefs choice, was excellent

This hotel could be the charming auberge with the amenities that we expected, but it fell short. The rooms were nice enough and the staff even nicer, but the amenities left a lot to be desired -- starting with the computer access. Wifi? Laughable! Every day you needed a different password for each device (computer, iPad, phone), and the connection... More

Le Coq Gadby Hotel represents a triumph of marketing over actualité. From the description on its website one could be forgiven for thinking it was perhaps an old French chateau set within the modern day equivalent of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Alas, far from it. Le Coq sits on a busy road in a run down residential area some... More

Stayed here on spec mid week on a special offer anticipating a bit of luxury based on the web description. First problem was actually driving past the hotel as it was so non-descript, and in fact even after finding it, it initially looked as if it was closed and had been for some time. Access is up small side road... More

We have just returned home from a stay in this hotel, it is very pleasant indeed. The staff are friendly and helpful, the room we stayed in was lovely (Cafe) with a bath with shower over and a wetroom, so all options were catered for. The meal in the restaurant was absolutely fabulous, as we expected and there was plenty... More

Not one of my usual stops, or indeed one that I would have planned to use. However, young colleague who is just joining us insisted on makin gthe bookings so I found us at Lecoq. As an historical point, this is where many of the supporters in the Dreyfuss Affaire came to meet. That aside there is little to note... More

If you're tired of corporate chain hotels with no character then this is a nice alternative. Don't be misled by the nodiscript neighbourhood, nor the view from outside, which is not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Once inside you have a choice of the original traditional architecture that has been tastefully renovated and furnished, or... More

This is auite a chaming hotel in a suburb of Rennes. It is actually a series of buiuldings that seem to have been renovated and joined together with linking passageways. There are some interesting architectural details, but more needs to be done to the presentation of the building. Food was OK, but looked better than it tasted. Staff were very... More
