Were staying in Rennes to attend a concert at the Theatre National de Bretagne which is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and in fact the artiste and his group were also staying in the hotel. We had asked for a got a quiet, comfortable room overlooking the gardens. The staff are helpful and we found having private underground... More

This is a tough place to review. Primarily because, if it wasn't described as a 4* hotel, I probably wouldn't feel quite as negative about it but, unfortunately, it just wasn't great. The check-in was great as were the check-in staff - the reception staff after that were not particularly welcoming. The lobby and public areas were good and it's... More

The biggest positive about this hotel is its central location, behind Place de la Republique; however, the student bar on the corner of Rue Vasselot gets noisy at night when patrons spill out onto the pavement, so it is not always peaceful. The décor seems a little dark and foreboding and could do with a refresh. There is no restaurant... More

I stayed here in September 2014. I acknowledge the great attention given to me and my colleague to make our stay really comfortable. Good location to begin and end walks into town. Would surely stay here again if I returned to Rennes.

Stayed here for 3 nights for business. Having stayed at Mercure hotels before, i knew what to expect. Although dated, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was better than expected, very impressed. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended if you are staying in Rennes. Well located too

The hotel is globally in line with the Mercure standard: clean, easy and good service, helpful staff. Unexpectedly, the room temperature remaind too high, despite eventually switching off the (noisy) aircon. The window could only open ajar - insufficient to get enough fresh air from outside. I shall not return to this particular Mercure hotel.

We stayed here last night with two friends...we had a superior class room each and it was really lovely. Yes, the cups for coffee were paper but that's not a big problem. At least there was tea and coffee making facilities provided, and toiletries as well. The room was large and very nicely decorated. The bed was huge and comfy,... More

The public areas of this hotel are lovely, the staff are friendly and it is in a great central location. However once you get into your room this rosy outlook changes. The decor was drab and outdated, paper cups were supplied for coffee and their were no toiletries supplied. This may sound fussy, but this was far from what I... More

So, I had room 114 - with garden view. Room was small but good size for one person. Hotel has good location. But it's not new and have specific smelt in the room. Bed and pillows very comfortable - so you have good option for sleep well. BUT the staff is brilliance!!!! Breakfast - the best I had ever have... More
