Found this hotel after arriving in Dinan and wandering around for a while with nothing but a bike and a smile. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful and my stunted french was no match for her excellent English. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was a good size with great water pressure to wash off a day's cycling... More

A last minute booking on a Bank Holiday weekend, we ended up in a twin room on the top floor 3/4th? The quirkiness & age of the building means no lift so quite a few stairs! The room itself was quite small but spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The shower had good pressure. Although no drawer space there is... More

We stayed here for one night and were delighted to be accommodated by the charming and helpful owner as we had no prior booking. Help with restaurants was quickly provided as it was late evening. Our room had a large bathroom and separate W.C. and a very comfortable double bed and separate single. Decor is indeed quirky which adds to... More

We based ourselves in Dinan at this hotel for our four days in Brittany. The owner, Katherine, was very informative about the area, restaurants etc. The breakfast was very good and great value. Our room was of a good size with a large bathroom. We were on what the French consider the first floor, but it is actually the second... More

Stayed 2 nights here - very friendly and helpful landlady, on checking in she gave us a very informative talk on the places to visit together with a list of restaurants. The room was very clean, ideal for a short stay. Good exercise too - being on the top floor was a challenge, but worthwhile. Good basic breakfast. Don't worry... More

Great location in the middle of town but no where near the main traffic so very quiet except for the clock tower which was expected hence the name! The chiming starts at about seven in the morning and goes every morning so don't expect a lie in. Very friendly lady running the hotel and the rooms were very clean with... More

Of all the hotels we stayed at during our recent road-trip in France, the Hotel de la Tour de l'Horloge featured the smallest and least comfortable rooms while at the same time offering excellent, friendly service. The lady who warmly welcomed us spoke near fluent English and German which greatly eased our usual translating challenges between my Algerian-American husband, the... More

This place is located smack in the city center but your GPS would not take it there since many of the streets are blocked for car traffic in this medieval city. After much frustration in finding it with our GPS, we decided to stop for a cup of coffee and parked our car in the metered lot in front of... More

Overall, I agree with the comments below. The owner is a discreet, charming woman, who did her best to make sure we had what we needed (me an iron, and a working hair dryer - the one in the bathroom is worthless if you have long hair). However, during two nights we were awakened dozens of times, not just from... More

I stayed here in late August with my husband and 16 year-old son. Catherine, the owner, is a gracious hostess and speaks very good English. We very much enjoyed interacting with her, which made our visit to her hotel and to Dinan so memorable. She gave us a heartfelt welcome and made us feel at home in her quaint hotel.... More
