Of all the hotels we stayed at during our recent road-trip in France, the Hotel de la Tour de l'Horloge featured the smallest and least comfortable rooms while at the same time offering excellent, friendly service. The lady who warmly welcomed us spoke near fluent English and German which greatly eased our usual translating challenges between my Algerian-American husband, the... More

This place is located smack in the city center but your GPS would not take it there since many of the streets are blocked for car traffic in this medieval city. After much frustration in finding it with our GPS, we decided to stop for a cup of coffee and parked our car in the metered lot in front of... More

Overall, I agree with the comments below. The owner is a discreet, charming woman, who did her best to make sure we had what we needed (me an iron, and a working hair dryer - the one in the bathroom is worthless if you have long hair). However, during two nights we were awakened dozens of times, not just from... More

I stayed here in late August with my husband and 16 year-old son. Catherine, the owner, is a gracious hostess and speaks very good English. We very much enjoyed interacting with her, which made our visit to her hotel and to Dinan so memorable. She gave us a heartfelt welcome and made us feel at home in her quaint hotel.... More

The hotel is very nice located, right in the heart of Dinan, with plenty of restaurants and shops around it. THe big parking place is a few minutes away. The building is old and there are a few steps into the rooms. Our room was big and beautiful, the bathroom was good and it was very clean all over. The... More

Situated in the medieval lanes of Dinan this took some finding - through an archway off the central parking and then a dark passage way, follow the small signs, or walk up the lanes to the old centre. However there was a warm welcome, this hotel is set on the second and third floors, so is not the place for... More

The decor is quirky and this is a far from modern hotel, but it offers comfortable and charming accomodation right in the centre of old Dinan. Best of all is the proprietor, Catherine, who is tireless in her efforts to make you welcome, and offering an outstanding concierge service (recommending and booking restaurants, onward hotel reservations, taxis etc).

The hotel is a very old residence converted to a small hotel. The decor is unusual and fun. As the hotel is located in the part of the old town that is a pedestrian mall, it is a good idea to e-mail the hotel for a detailed map of where they are located (hotel.pbdelatour@orange.fr ). Even with the map, it... More

I chose this Hotel for our weekend stay in Dinan because it looked totally different from the normal Hotels that you can frequent and because the reviews were all fairly good. Loved its quirky style and as all other reviewers have said, the owner was charming. The bathroom was small but it did have a bath, albeit a little small,... More

We just had a very comfortable staying, with the hotel located right in the town center and well managed by a charm and friendly lady, very passionate about her job and helpful to give useful suggestions on how to visit Bretagne. We got two rooms at the upper floor with a nice view across at the historical houses of Dinan,... More
