This is a pretty basic hotel in a pretty rough part of town near the station. I was touring France in a Porsche Boxter and this was not the place to park a good car. Very close to the Railway station and very noisy. Not a place to stay unless it was really necessary.Clermont-Ferrand is strictly NOT on my list...

In front of the railways station and at 20 minutes walk of the center of Clermont. Bus stop at the foot of the hotel for the old city of Montferrand or ghe "navettes" to Vulcania and the Puy-de-Dôme (ascension highly recommended with good shoes and water). This clean and simple family-run hotel is very conveniently opposite the railway station - and a short walk or bus ride to the city centre. The proprietors were friendly and very very helpful (we had a small medical emergency while there and they really could not have been kinder or more helpful and supportive).
Rooms are modest, nicely looked after...
