We needed a room at the last minute during the beginning of the high season. The owners were very understanding. Our room was very comfortable, air conditioned so the church bells were never a problem. Completely renovated bathroom, large (by our standards). Very close (steps away) to the beach and promenade. Gorgeous large garden in back. There IS an elevator... More

I cannot recommend this hotel. Owners were nice enough, but the room was dirty and stunk so badly we had to leave the balcony door open all night. The room is average size, with a really tiny retrofitted bathroom. There is only street parking, which is nearly impossible in summer. Nearest parking garage is pretty far away. No elevator, so... Arrived in St Jean de Luz without a hotel booked and tried a few before this one had a single room available. The Madame of the hotel was welcoming and friendly, joking and pleasant, and offered her last room available. Conveniently positioned, this little hotel is just simple enough to make your stay comfortable. Great wifi although you need to... More

Just a block away from the beach, this is a flower-bedecked Basque house framed by cobalt-blue shutters. The 17 rooms are immaculate, well furnished and generous in size. There are no lifts ,so if you are up the top ,its a haul-your own suitcase job. Out back is a superb garden full of comfy deck chairs. Great location and quiet at night,with... More

Older charming two star hotel a block from the beach. The couple, who own it, was great and the breakfast a highlight. The garden would be gorgeous in good weather. The room walls are a bit thin and the bathroom is retrofitted into the bedroom which would be problematic if I was traveling with someone.

We had a good stay here for 4 nights. The room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. We liked the location very near the beach and close to great restaurants. It was cool and rainy during our stay so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely garden. We had to park quite a distance from the hotel which wasn't... More

Hotel Ohartzia is a charming little hotel a block from the ocean promenade and in the opposite direction a street with lovely shops and delicious restaurants; just what we wanted. There are two small intimate areas for quiet after a day of roaming around town plus a back yard overflowing with flowers and trees. Only two small problems: Finding the... More

It is about one hundred yards or meters from the promenade along the ocean. It really is a beautiful town. The hotel did not have an elevator but if you are in decent health and appreciate older antique style places, then this hotel is for you. We loved our room that looked out into the private garden. The room was... More

We stayed 6 nights at this hotel and found it to be a very good location for exploring St Jean de Luz and the surrounding areas. The whole town was in easy walking distance. Our room was facing the garden and was a good size, clean, quiet and had a very large bathroom. WiFi service is only on during the day... More
