This hotel is a walk - maybe 1.5 kilometers - from train station. During that walk, though, you will see a lot of the town so pay attention. We are no spring chickens towing medium sized bags and it was a nice stroll noting many places to visit during our stay. The owner is Maria Christina and she is delightful,... More

The perfect location to base yourself for the eating and indulging tours of Snt Sebastian. Hotel is grand, comfortable with good service. Views over the river are lovely. The bar scene at the hotel is also good..from turn Dry bar for evening cocktails to the Salon for some afternoon sundowners , highly recommend the hotel and the city for a... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. For the price, we found it very nice. It is a good deal for the area for sure. Our room was rather small, but if you are well organized there is a place for everything. We appreciated the toilet and shower separated. The bed was comfortable even if the pillows were a... More

The Hotel is located in the heart of San Sebastian within walking distance of all the great Tapas bars. The rooms are terrific, great restaurant, excellent service and a super very nice gym. I hope to be back some day.

Four of us recently stayed at the Maria christina for two nights whilst on a visit to explore the area. We found the owners very friendly and helpful and the hotel was convebiently situated about a 5 minute walk from the beach and 10 minutes from the pedestrian free area. The breakfast was very French and adequate, the room charge... More

The perfect place to stay if you're looking for a place with charm and personnality. It is certainly not anonymous like a Ritz or a Best Western. I had a quiet, small and simple single room that was just perfect for my needs. Situated in a residential area, the place is very quiet. You may spend the hot hours of... More

Hall way tired, room relatively basic and small. Bathroom small but wonderful, great shower villory and Boch fittings. Room was impeccably serviced each day. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location good, I would imagine this would be particularly good for families

When we decided to explore the Basque country, we didn't have much time (only 3 days). So, we thought we might splurge and stay in (for us) ritzy St Jean de Luz so that we could easily reach the places we wanted to visit (St Jean de Luz itself plus nearby villages such as Sare, the town of St Jean... After arriving from the 5 star Westin Palace in Madrid, we were a bit disappointed with the small size of the room and outdated feeling of this hotel. Walking down the hallway we instantly felt like we were in a scene from the shining, although we quite liked this. Our room was fine and had a wonderful balcony view of... More

We stayed here between 12 and 19 July 2009. Owners are very friendly and helpful with lots of good tips on places to visit and local good value restaurants. Our room was very small but adequate and clean. Only criticism was that bedroom corridor carpet was very tatty! Definitely would recommend this hotel and the location near the beach and... More
