This hotel is not worthy of its 4 star grading. The hotel is in much need of renovation and the rooms are very dated. The spa was a huge let down. In the spa area some of the tiles has cracked, the swimming pool needs a good clean and the place generally looked unclean. In our room the curtains had... More

We stayed 3 nights. The room was normal for a Comfort Room, the balcony need a clean up badly and a renovation. The Staff very helpfully and when we needed something done, it was done. The spa worth the trip and I had a massage looking out a the ocean, so this and the spa made our stay pleasant. The... More

We stayed for 4 nights - The rooms were clean and spacious. Our room was on the 1st floor looking over the main enterance. We could hear the crowd in the bar nearby every night and also the teenages who use the out side of the hotel as a skate park @ the w;'end........So please request a room with either... More

Stayed at this hotel spa with my mom who experienced the spa treatments while I enjoyed the area. The hotel staff was very courteous and very helpful with everything. The hotel is decently renovated with a few quirks here and there (slow elevators, water leaks in the hallway under the glass ceilings). Rooms are of decent size and comfortable with... More

Great Hotel and location , unfortunately they don't let children in the Spa....they now state you have to be 14, yet they don't advise this on any of the web sites that they advertise through ...such as Booking.com ...who incidentally take no responsibility for anything on their webiste as they put all resposnibility on the hotel. Shame.

We just stayed 3 days as a try out for a week stay later on at this Hotel Spa (Thalassotherapie) Very impressed by the attention to details and flexibility . The hotel is in the center of a cute sea Town in the Pays Basque. We took the demi pension. Delightful creative menu yet light at the Oceane with a... More

The hotel is ideally located within the town. On the beach, and just a short walk to shops and restaurants. The view is great looking out across the ocean. Check in was efficient where you are provided with a plastic bag with swimming bonnet and spa sandals. The bedroom was small but sufficient with safe and basic mini bar with... More

After reading some pretty bad reviews on Tripadvisor we were surprised at how nice the hotel was. There are definitely some delayed maintenance issues (the carpet really needs to be replaced and the rooms repainted), but the bones are good in this hotel. The bathroom had a lovely marble counter top and the tile was very nice. There was a... More

Stayed here for a week's spa package. The chef is excellent and restaurant staff very attentive. Highly recommend the quality of the spa treatments and the staff although a minor criticism would be that spa reception can appear a little indifferent - they spend a lot of time chatting with one another even when clients are waiting and for non-French... Occasionally we drive through France to Spain/Portugal and find ourselves spending the night in the south-west corner of France. We've stayed at, and enjoyed, Biarritz and San Sebastian and thought that we'd try St Jean-de-Luz this time, booking for three nights. Unfortunately most hotels were fully booked, so we thought we'd take a chance on the Helianthal despite the very... More
