I stayed here on my into the Pyrenees by bike. The hotel are no hotels near the station and this is as close as any of them. It is in a quiet street and convenient for shops and retaurants. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable.

A remarkably quiet and comfortable room on the second floor - pity there's no lift. Plenty of hot water, a kettle in the room for tea or coffee; larger cups provided on request by helpful staff. Excellent location. Didn't try their breakfast but there's a bakery across the street for croissants, etc.

This hotel is very simple in the centre of the town close to the Pole Bosquet bus stop and the main square. It does not have any character, the rooms are very simple and there is not much choice for breakfast. It is limited to hot+cold drinks, baguette, some croissants and yogurt. Not even cold plates or fruit. It's not... More

Hello the Pyrenees are an amazing part of our world and the place to begin your explorations of the French side should be Pau, this hotel is downtown near everything. Happy nice owner that speaks English and Spanish, and will help when asked. Overall great value for location and comfort of the room, wifi works perfectly in my room and there... More

We spent a night here and were very pleased with our convenient location--10 mins from the chateau and many nice restaurants. Our room was relatively big (compared to many we'd been staying in), clean, comfortable, and VERY quiet. Our host was charming, extremely helpful (especially in assisting us with parking, which is difficult), and recommended an excellent restaurant. Terrific croissants... More

Although the rooms were clean and the staff friendly enough, I found it to be extremely overpriced for the facilities and location. 65 euros for a small bedroom, breakfast not included; is ridiculous considering that the rooms have no charm, no views, and aren't exactly convenient. Travelling up three flights of stairs with heavy bags from our family wasn't fun.... More

As with Pau in general, so this hotel - uninspiring at best. Although it wasn't dirty and the staff were not unpleasant, the hotel has no atmosphere whatsoever, the rooms and quasi foyer are cheaply decorated, and the surroundings are far from salubrious. Basically a step above a hostel, this is far overpriced for what it is. A charge of... More

Small 2 star hotel just off the main square. Clean, friendly and well recommended at 64 euros plus breakfast at 7 euros each. Free wi-fi. Nearby underground car park.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Central following a visit to Lourdes..This is the second time we have flown from Stansted to Pau to get to Lourdes. We got a taxi to the Railway Station (cost 22 euros) and the train to Lourdes was 12 euros return( a pleasant 30 min journey). We were impressed by Pau on our... More

I spent 8 nights at the Hotel Central in March 2009. It is everything you want a 2-star hotel to be--clean, simple and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located--surrounded by shops and restaurants, and a 10-minute walk from the train station and Chateau. (Note the Pau train station is below the city. A free Funicular carries passengers up the steep... More
