We loved this modern smart hotel with its friendly and helpful staff. Our room overlooked the small garden and swimming pool and was very comfortable with plenty of towels and everywhere spotlessly clean. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and there is plenty of local information available in reception. Breakfast was continental style with plenty to choose from. There is... More

The Hotel de France is located at 18 Place Gambetta, Bergerac, just a short walking distance from Notre Dame Church, the old town with its many restaurants and bars and the Dordogne River. Hotel de France has on-site parking for three cars at a charge of 12 Euros per night. On the street in front of the hotel there is... More

Chose this hotel via Bookings.com for a one night stay after arriving by plane into little Bergerac Airport. Easy to find and centrally located. Nice room overlooking the pool, basically but adequately furnished. Good breakfast and easy parking outside. We would use the hotel again.

We were happy to stay at this hotel for two days. Reception was welcoming and helpful (English was spoken). The room was nice and the breakfast was good. There is a small swimming pool. The atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant. We can recommend it.

We did not stay at the hotel but had occasion to request assistance from the gentleman at reception. He was very helpful and, based on the service we saw received by a couple booking in at the time, and the help we received, we will stay at the Hotel de France next time we are in Bergerac.

We came upon this hotel by chance as the accommodation we had booked was so awful (Lagrange Prestige Le Clos Des Vignes), we left after the first night and we need to find something quick and at short notice. This hotel is a little gem, and yes the rooms are small, the beds very comfortable, are nicely decorated and clean... More

We stayed at hotel de France for a whole week. I think the two reviewers below must be a bit stuck up and I'm not surprised the owner had at you for trying to climb the balcony! Anyway, we found the owners very welcoming and were happy to help us the whole week. They spoke good English and kept out... More

Overall disappointed with this hotel. Rooms are small and dirty, owner is very rude, location is good but rather noisy. I would recommend the Hotel Bordeaux next door, stayed there the year before, much better value for money and friendly

We stayed at the hotel for a friend's wedding. Whereas the checkin was smooth, the room was average apart from the fact that the balcony door locked itself from the outside!!! Which was exactly what happened whilst we were on our 2nd floor balcony. My husband had to climb over to the adjacent room's balcony and ask to be let... More

We stayed at this this hotel very last minute, having no where to stay, the owners of the hotel could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are very clean, and functional, we had a lovely room overlooking the pool. The garden is so lovely and quiet a perfect place to relax after... More
