I stayed at this hotel for 11 nights in two different rooms on the third (and top) floor, and both were comfortable, bright, quiet and clean. The hotel is built in an old mansion style town house, and is a bit quirky for the same reason. The wooden floors creaked in places and the lift/elevator has a mind of its... More

I stumbled across this hotel on Booking.com. What a find! I was so pleased with the hotel I was just sorry I only had one night. The rooms are so tastefully decorated as are the common areas. The location can't be beat - on the corner of the public garden, a short walk to Les Halles, a vibrant quarter with... More

Loved this place! Stayed here in Aug 2012 for just one night but would have liked to stay longer. Such a pretty bedroom with a nice shower and comfortable bed. We found free parking for the stay just around the corner. The decor is really quaint and the hotel is super central and affordable. We arrived late and the reception... More

The hotel is very conveniently situated within walking distance of the beach and all Biarritz' other attractions. We found the staff pleasant and helpful, although it took three room changes to give us the "superior twin" we had booked, and the hotel has a certain historic charm. However, it does not have any parking, and the "free" parking the hotel... More

People, the trick is asking for a renovated room! They only cost 6 Euros more per night during high season and they are absolutely good value for Biarritz. After booking over a online reservation portal, I wrote to the hotel (in French) asking if it was a renovated one. It wasn't, so I adapted the reservation directly with them. We... More

Well situated and clean, but room (contrary to the advertisement) was old-fashioned and dull with furniture that literally was falling apart and staff apathetic. No parking, so that was an extra euro per hour. IInternet not working (but that could be the fault of the internet provider). As we are going to be visiting Biarritz often in the coming year... More

The hotel manager was incredibly rude and sarcastic, i suspect he has something against British people despite my efforts to speak French. The rooms are shabby and ongoing diy is annoying as well as passing drunks. All in all a waste of money and my time.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were very pleased with the location, which is very close to the beach and the main shops and bars. However when we rang the front doorbell, we were greeted by a very abrupt man who made us wait on the front step for several minutes while he was too busy to let us... More

We loved the Maison du lierre. It is idealy located and provided a friendly and comfortable place to stay but don't expect luxury or full service. I would definitely stay again if we go back to Biarritz. Stayed at the Maison du Lierre for 2 nights with my wife and 2 year old son. Our room was very comfortable and... More
