The new management company has increased prices by 40%, changed the names of the rooms to suites to confuse unsuspecting returning customers, decreased the price difference between the ocean and courtyard view rooms, but done has done nothing to upgrade the very tired rooms and bathrooms, except to add free Wi Fi and a €500 30" TV. Since internet service... More

The most wonderful surprise on arrival is to be told you have been given an upgrade and how brilliant it was! The weather was cold and windy with showers on and off each day which we did not expect. Being in such a beautiful beach front palatial room was very comfortable and homely after coming in from the unpredictable weather.... More

Hotel du Palais is one of the most famous old style luxury hotels in Europe, and both the building and the location are magnificent. We did however think that service was not that great. The problem is that they are not really 'service minded' in general, instead they give different treatment to different guests. We found it hard to swallow... More

This place was originally built as a palace for Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon the III. While not much remains from the original structure, it still has a feel of a palace. From the grand lobby, the dining halls ovelooking the ocean, to the rooms - everything is very elegant and plush. Our family, 5 people, shared Prince Orloff apartment... More

We recently stated at the Hotel du Palais and totally enjoyed our experience with the exception of our room and in particular the beds--rock hard. We knew we would not get a sea view room but we were supposed to see the garden; instead, it was the driveway to the entrance. No big deal except the beds were so hard... More

My family held an event at le Palais in June this year. Everything had been planned to the last details thanks to an amazingly professional team. On the day of the event a serious accident happened and one of our guests was in hospital between life and death 2 hours prior to the event. We had to reschedule the whole... More

The hotel is just beautifull, how could it not be...but it is a disaster when it comes to the service in its restaurants and pool area. We have been there twice, a year apart each time, and twice had the same issues. Looks like the staff is a bit upset at the idea of serving clients....which is a shame for... More

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for a friend's wedding and was blown away by the property, service and the location of the hotel. Given that it is a French hotel, I never expected such good service but I was blown away by their sincerity and the details they would go through for you. The room was spacious and... More

We stayed at this hotel for one week with children and nanny and had a couple of superior rooms and a junior suite. I was pleasantly surprised that whilst the hotel is classic it does not feel stuffy or old fashioned. The rooms were airy with high ceilings and soft furnishing was tastefully done as one rarely sees in old... More

Beautiful location overlooking the rocky French Cote des Basques, this is elegant old world charm at its best. Attentive, cheerful, impeccable service, this place is a new favorite of mine. I want to stay here for a month next summer... NB: Apparently, this hotel is not owned by a major chain but, rather, by the town of Biarritz, so it... More
