The hotel is located up a busy one-way street several blocks from the beach and casino. Our room was #3 on the second floor. The bedroom was spacious, exceptionally clean and well kept with comfortable furnishings, TV, twin beds made up as a double, bedside tables with reading lamps. The bathroom was also very clean and spacious with a shower,... more

This is a very nice little hotel in the heart of Biarritz, just a few blocks from the waterfront, with the feel of a B&B. Good sized room, clean, and adequate hot water. A bit noisy at night with the windows open, as there are a few "townie" bars just down the street, but otherwise pretty quiet. more

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Maison Garnier. We enjoyed this holiday more than any other and would thoroughly recommend Maison Garnier as an excellent place to stay. Patrick and Joanne, the owners, were wonderful hosts and even invited us for some champagne one evening. The hotel itself is a wonderful example of French decor with a... more

Enjoyed a pleasant 3 night stay in Biarritz in this small family run hotel which has approx. 6 rooms. The hotel is maintained by the owners and is therefore spotless. The twin room on the top floor is very spacious and contains nice period features. The hotel is very close to all amenities. I would recommend a trip to Saint... more

We were severely mislead by the entry on the Alistair Sawday website which stated that this property was "located at the corner of a quiet street .....". The traffic noise was appalling during day and most of the night for the 5 days we stayed there. In addition, the bar next door had very loud live music on the Thursday... more

I loved Maison Garnier! I have just spent a couple of days in this lovely hotel. My boyfriend booked it as a surprise for my birthday! I liked the genuine, friendly staff and the owner or manager (not sure) made our stay most enjoyable. He also managed to get us a car at very short notice. It has character and... more

Having read the reviews on Tripadvisor, my wife and I spent 2 nights at Maison Garnier, paying €110 per night for B&B. This is more a high quality, 7-roomed B&B rather than a hotel. It’s an attractive old building of character, situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and beach. However, I wouldn’t recommend our room, No 7,... more

We enjoyed the Maison Garnier and liked the location. I would probably not visit the town again but found no fault with this small holding. The room was spacious and the breakfast was fresh and cheerful. more

Stayed at Maison Gambetta for 5 nights as base to visit Biarritz, St. Jean de Luz, and interior Pays Basque villages.Great location on Rue Gambetta.A 5 to 10 minute walk from everything--beaches, Centre-Ville, restaurants, shopping. Hotel rooms are spotlessly clean and adequately furnished..The owner(Yves Gelot),his wife and small staff are gracious, hospitable, and helpful .You must appreciate small intimate hotels (7 rooms)... more

We were a group of six; my wife and I; our two chidren (aged 6 and 8) and my wifes parents. So not an altogether easy travelling group! BUT, Maison Garnier wasa good place to chill out; very close to everything that you would want to do in Biarritz, like the beach!! But also close to the Market Place (just... more
