We went to Chateau Rigaud for the October half term house party. We had read the reviews, so were expecting something special, and Chateau Rigaud didn't disappoint. We were greeted by Anna who showed us round the beautiful chateau. We were staying in the tower room, which was perfect, very large with a lovely bathroom and amazing shower/wet room housed... more

We had the pleasure of staying at Chateau Rigaud recently for a friend's wedding. The setting is absolutely stunning and the chateau has been beautifully refurbished to modern standards whilst retaining its rustic charm. The food was fantastic and the drink never stopped flowing - we felt like we were staying in our own private chateau but with the service... more

The trick - and it's a really brilliant one to pull off - is that Anna and Abe (Chateau Rigaud's owners) make you to feel the place is your own within about fifteen minutes after arriving. My wife and I had driven (with the wedding dress, musical equipment etc) from the UK and we were the first of the large... more

I've just got back from my best friend's wedding at Chateau Rigaud. I was lucky enough to be invited to stay in the chateau as part of the wedding party and it was one of the best 5 days of my life. The house is breathtaking: the rooms are huge and beautifully decorated with huge beds, free-standing baths, waterfall showers,... more

Myself and a group of friends (12 of us altogether) hired out the Chateaux for a long weekend at the beginning of June. There is nothing not to love about this Cheateaux - plenty of food (cooked by your own chef) drink (chapel bar). Bedrooms all different and quirky but all fabulous! Swimming pool lovely and clean, sorrounding area just... more

"That was the best holiday ever" is what my daughter said when we had to leave Chateau Rigaud - and she is quite an expert at what constitutes a good family holiday. Looking after smaller ones in the House Cinema, enjoying craft activities with the Gallery Ladies and cooking with the chef were highlights but the kids also loved sleeping... more

We've now been twice to Rigaud and both stays have been the most incredible weeks. The place is simply gorgeous - every room a delight, distinctive, and luxurious. There are enough living rooms and nooks to be pretty much guaranteed to be able to find a spot to yourself, and the cinema is an unforgettable experience! And when the task... more

We were fortunate to be among the guests for the inaugural Wine Weekend at the Chateau Rigaud. A weekend of "education" about the wines of Bordeaux. The setting is the countryside of Bordeaux in a beautifully restored 400 year old chateau. Anna and Abe and Friends have created a luxurious home with huge rooms, dreamy bathrooms (think crystal chandeliers and... more

We've just returned from the first ever Wine Weekend at Chateau Rigaud. I won't echo all the comments that are already given here in many other reviews -- the chateau is beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable, the staff friendly and welcoming, etc etc. All of that is true. But I will talk instead about the specific elements of the... more

Divine parent-friendly place to stay. no worries about baby mess, cots, dropped food and night-time wailing. this place accomodated us and our tot brilliantly, whilst retaining its grown-up chic thanks to gorgeous interiors, slap-up meals and plenty of fun and chat. thank god for places like this. more
