Dropped in for a coffee in wonderful Birdeaux. Bad service, chipped and damaged tables, coffee like dishwater and all this for £6 a cup! A great disappointment. Anyone should be able to produce good coffee today.

We booked two superior rooms. But if one was superior the other definitely was not. Yet both cost the same. Also, at over 300 euros per night per room, one might not expect to have to pay extra to use the pool! So overall, an expensive hotel that does not fully justify the cost.

This elegant, effortlessly expensive palace cuts no corners. Magnificent position, beautifully decadent, red and black spa, rooftop 'night beach' bar restaurant, great service. Cocktails were pricy but with so many nibbles it was almost a meal. Sadly the 'night beach' was closed when we were there, 'bad weather' - seemed fine to me. But its a great place opposite the... We only stayed here one night, but it is an exquisite address and an elegant hotel on a central square across from the Opera. The rooftop bar provided a panoramic view of Bordeaux 360 degrees. Service was quick and polite. Highly recommended.

Having stayed in a lot of luxury hotels with business across the world I would rate Le Grand Hotel de Bordeaux poorly. I stayed in a superior room which was of course of a good standard but rather dark, windows could not be opened. Lobby/restaurant service is the worst I have seen even for french standards, expect to wait at... More

Le Grand Hotel Bordeaux was part of a 10 day trip through France. We had two full days in Bordeaux but only one night at this lovely hotel. We tried our best to extend our trip to stay another night but the hotel was already sold out. Don't make the same mistake - 2 nights is a must. We loved... More

I recently stayed here with my partner. We had a super time. The location is superb and the service was excelent. The hotel is fantastically luxuriousbut the decor is a little dark and oppressive. A small criticism for what was a lovely stay. The location couldn't be better.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely hotel for a few days and we were pleasantly surprised at how elegant it was. We booked a beautiful suite (#203) overlooking the Opera House. There was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room when we entered. There is a lovely bar downstairs and a beautiful buffet for... More

This is a fine full service hotel with friendly professional staff. We had a one week long business function and it was fantastic. They were extremely helpful. The breakfast and lunch were very good and the location perfect for bars and restaurants nearby. Two opportunities are to stabilize the internet wifi signal and get some more light into some of... Located on a square across form the Opera House in the middle of the action is what makes this a great hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating and the rooms were very clean. The room is nice but not what we are used to. We were on the backside of the hotel overlooking the Notre Dame Cathedral facing... More
